Her journey into the nonprofit and events industry began during her time as a student, when she worked on a catering team supporting museum events. Her Interview

Ten minutes with Natasha

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to a set of qualities I chose to hold onto, even when circumstances made it difficult. I remained committed and persistent, refusing to give up when challenges arose. At the same time, I recognized that growth is not a solitary process, and I actively sought out and welcomed support when I needed it. I asked for guidance from those with greater experience and insight, and I stayed open to learning from their perspectives.

Resilience, paired with a willingness to seek mentorship, has been central to my progress. By staying determined while also remaining humble enough to learn from others, I’ve been able to navigate obstacles more effectively and continue moving forward. Perseverance, openness, and a respect for shared knowledge have shaped not only what I’ve accomplished but how I approach every new challenge.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would encourage you, first and foremost, to believe in yourself and your potential. Seek out mentorship and guidance: many individuals genuinely want to give back and support others' growth. Stay committed to your path, even when it becomes challenging. Resilience and consistency matter more than perfection. Trust that with persistence, meaningful progress will follow. And perhaps most importantly, don’t hesitate to reach out: some people truly want to see you succeed and are willing to help you along the way.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Stepping into the role of director within an organization that has such a broad reach has brought both meaningful challenges and exciting opportunities. One of the most significant challenges for me has been taking on responsibilities I haven’t previously held, particularly in areas like securing sponsorships. While I have a foundation of skills to build on, I’m still developing confidence through experience. This has required me to be intentional about learning, seeking guidance, and leaning on the expertise of others who have navigated this work successfully.

At the same time, the scope and influence of this organization present an incredible opportunity. Its ability to impact so many facets of the community is both inspiring and motivating. What resonates most deeply with me is the chance to serve and contribute in ways that strengthen connections and foster meaningful relationships. That is where I find the greatest fulfillment, and it’s exactly the kind of work I’m privileged to be doing right now.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I approach my work with integrity, ensuring that my decisions and actions are grounded in honesty and strong ethical principles. I take accountability for my responsibilities and outcomes, following through on commitments. In a constantly evolving environment, I value adaptability, staying flexible and open to change so I can respond effectively to new challenges. I believe in the power of collaboration, working closely with others to achieve shared goals and build stronger outcomes. Above all, I maintain a people-focused mindset, prioritizing respect, understanding, and positive impact in every interaction.

In my personal life, I strive to lead with empathy, taking the time to understand others and approach situations with compassion. I value authenticity, showing up as my true self, and building genuine connections. Discipline guides my actions, helping me stay consistent and committed to my goals even when it’s challenging. I also embrace a growth mindset, continuously learning from experiences and seeking opportunities to improve and evolve.
