About Nicole
Nicole T. Terrel is a servant-minded business development and capture management professional who serves as Senior Manager – Capture at Maximus. She brings experience in capture management, proposal development, strategic planning, business development, and government pursuits across complex, mission-driven environments. In her current role, she leads high-value state and local government pursuits, overseeing multi-year opportunities and partnering cross-functionally to develop client-focused solutions. Her leadership approach centers on building trust, creating clarity, aligning diverse teams, and bringing structure and accountability to complex initiatives.
Throughout her career, Nicole has progressed through increasingly responsible roles in capture and business development, moving from Proposal/Capture Coordinator Senior to Senior Analyst – Capture, Manager – Capture, and ultimately Senior Manager – Capture. Her experience includes developing pursuit strategies, analyzing opportunities, coordinating cross-functional teams, supporting proposal responses, conducting competitive intelligence, and leading capture activities for significant government contracting opportunities. She has also pursued professional development through the Maximus Design Thinking Foundations Program and Power BI training and is currently working toward her Capture Practitioner Certification. In addition to her corporate leadership, Nicole is a published author, with Blind Faith and Grace for Grace reflecting her interest in faith, personal growth, stewardship, forgiveness, and purposeful living.
Nicole's influence extends beyond her professional responsibilities through her commitment to service, leadership, and community. She served as President of Maximus's Black Alliance Employee Resource Group from 2022 through 2026, leads a college ministry, participates on a patient advisory board, and has volunteered with Girls Inc. and Wheeler Mission. Her professional philosophy is grounded in integrity, service, trust, and meaningful impact, and she strives to help people and organizations navigate complexity while creating opportunities for sustainable growth. Through her corporate leadership, community involvement, and writing, she continues to emphasize the importance of serving others, developing future leaders, and pursuing growth with purpose.
