Nina Kanate Epse Toure is an aspiring Human Resources professional with a strong academic foundation in Human Resource Management from Kent State University. She recently earned her Bachelor’s degree, an achievement that reflects her commitment to people-centered leadership, organizational development, and continuous learning. Raised in an entrepreneurial environment, Nina developed an early appreciation for business operations, customer engagement, and adaptability. Her experiences assisting her parents in small business ventures, combined with more than three years of work as a hairstylist, strengthened her communication, sales, and customer service skills. These experiences, along with her internship as a Human Resources Recruiter at GAOTek Inc., have equipped her with practical knowledge in recruiting, global HR management, teamwork, and professional communication.
In addition to her professional and academic pursuits, Nina serves as a women’s leader at her church, where she has further developed her leadership, organizational, and mentoring abilities. She is recognized for being focused, a fast learner, and a dedicated team player with a strong work ethic. What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to resilience, faith, and an unwavering commitment to perseverance. As a mother of a child with special needs, my journey has been filled with challenges that have tested my strength, patience, and determination; however, those experiences have shaped my purpose and drive. Navigating motherhood, advocacy, and personal growth has not been easy, but it has reinforced my belief that adversity can be transformed into motivation. I strive to inspire other mothers, especially those raising children with special needs, single mothers, and young adults, to remain hopeful, resilient, and steadfast in pursuing their goals, regardless of the obstacles they may face.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received is to keep going and remain consistent, because persistence and dedication will ultimately lead to achieving your dreams.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would advise young women entering the industry to never give up, believe in their abilities, stay resilient in the face of challenges, and remain committed to continuous growth and self-confidence as they pursue their goals.
