Her Interview

Ten minutes with Nourhan

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to taking every piece of advice I receive seriously, working hard on improving my skills like management and flexibility, being a hard worker, and maintaining loyalty without letting ego get in the way. I classify advice into good and bad and actively apply it through courses and listening.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice is to be a hard worker, don't give up, develop negotiation skills, and learn how to manage and supervise a team. I never ignore advice and work on any shortcomings in my personality or skills through courses and podcasts.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Don't give up. Set your dreams and follow them step by step. Even coming from a different culture like the Middle East, it is possible if you persist and don't let doubts enter your mind.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Challenges include language barriers, understanding different cultures, accent issues that make brokers hesitant, and building trust. Opportunities come from my kind personality, good soul, and high sense of community which helps people accept me easily.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Honesty is key. I feel like a mother to the drivers and brokers, taking their trust seriously and doing my best to satisfy both sides with accurate information and good deals. It is more spiritual than money-wise, putting myself in others' shoes to make everyone feel comfortable and confident.
