My company is built around helping property management companies migrate their properties into the property management software that they use, which is Entrata. I work with property management companies that operate out of the software called Entrata, and I help them bring all of their properties and their data, all their resident information into that software so that they can operate efficiently. I help property management companies with their marketing, gain their traffic, and then also train their team one-on-one. There's a lot of resources that the software Entrata offers and provides, but just even due to liability reasons, they can't go into another software's data and help those property managers migrate all that information. That's where I'm a third-party consultant that I'm able to access both sides and help them with that. A typical day could be working on creating an entire website for a client, connecting all of their social media accounts so that their branding and their image gets out there. Another day I could be migrating a 336-unit property, all of their financials, all of their rents, all of their recurring charges, making sure that their data that's gonna be brand new in the system is correct and accurate. Another day can look like I'm training the team one-on-one, the ins and outs of how they're gonna operate their daily operations through the system, making sure that they're getting the best training possible so that they could be efficient in the new software.

Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I would definitely have to say coworkers, my supervisors, people who've believed in me, given me the opportunities to be able to put their trust in spearheading big projects. I was the person to spearhead that entire 4,500 unit migration amongst our entire all of our departments, so our accounting team. And then also myself, believing in myself. I'm very hard on myself to make sure that if someone's relying on me, I want to complete something as quickly as possible and efficiently. I never want someone to be at the mercy of me, because sometimes I'm at the mercy of other people getting an answer. So I try to just make those transitions as smooth as possible. I would probably say friends, family, supervisors, entrusting me with my work ethic that I've shown over the years for them to be able to trust me to do that and take that on, and then provide them with the success in being able to operate through those properties now.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would really say keep an open mind. Always be flexible in learning new things, learning new trends, and keeping up to date with the trends, because technology and even just life is ever-evolving, and you don't want to stay behind. That's really what differentiates a small, mom-and-pop property compared to a larger corporation, because of potential tech stacks versus someone who wants to just keep files and pen and paper. I would really say, sometimes you do have to invest in more to, you know, no risk, no reward, but just keep keeping an open mind and wanting to be sure to move with technology and the trends.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I definitely think that just the market in general could be a challenge. Where there could have been an investment opportunity maybe like 5 years ago, that investment opportunity has either tripled or quadrupled in right now, in today's market. We're seeing a lot of the changes in the market right now where that can really limit someone who's wanting to expand their portfolio, even with current prices. Construction, I worked with a client where they had to pause construction for about half a year. There's hiccups like that, obviously during COVID and all that, there was a lot of that downfall, but we're still seeing a lot of the ripple effect from that. I would probably just say the challenges aren't necessarily with internal people or teams, but more so the market and wanting to expand just with the current climate that we're in right now.
