About Paige
Paige Hadziselimovic, M.Ed., is an educational consultant, admissions coach, and founder of Ivy & Ember College and Career, where she helps students and families navigate college admissions, career planning, and higher education pathways. With nearly two decades of experience in public education, Paige has served as a teacher, Director of Theatre Arts, assistant principal, and middle school principal. Her background in student advocacy, behavior management, organizational culture, and educational leadership gives her a broad perspective on the academic and personal factors that shape student success.
Through Ivy & Ember College and Career, Paige provides individualized guidance on college selection, applications, admissions, career development, and financial aid. She believes students should first understand their values, interests, strengths, and goals before determining which educational or career path is right for them. Her approach emphasizes authenticity, empathy, organization, and collaboration between students and families, with a particular commitment to helping diverse and underrepresented students access opportunities that align with their aspirations. Paige is also continuing her professional development through Rice University's College Access Counseling Program as she works toward expanding her expertise in college access counseling.
Paige holds a B.A. in Drama and Dramatics/Theatre Arts from Furman University, where she also pursued education and became certified in Theatre Arts K–12, and an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and Administration from Concordia University Texas. A native Austinite, she is also a mother, caregiver, former PTO president, theatre enthusiast, and advocate for meaningful community involvement. Her personal values include authenticity, creativity, family, inner peace, humor, and connection, all of which inform her belief that students deserve to feel seen, heard, and supported as they build futures that reflect who they truly are.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Paige
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to authenticity, creativity, careful listening, and staying open to growth and change. My background in education and theater arts has helped me understand different perspectives, connect with people, and approach challenges creatively. I value genuine relationships and encouragement from colleagues, and I believe success means creating a professional path that reflects my values and priorities.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I would share is to understand yourself before deciding what you want to achieve. When you feel consistently unhappy, exhausted, or disconnected from your work, listen to that inner voice rather than assuming you simply need to push through. I also believe in the principle of “go slow to go fast”—thoughtful, intentional progress creates a stronger foundation for sustainable success, quality relationships, and personal well-being.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would encourage young women to start with who they are before deciding what they want to accomplish. Remember that your worth comes from who you are, not simply from what you do. Pay attention when you feel unhappy, exhausted, or physically and mentally depleted, and give yourself permission to change direction when needed. Your career path can evolve to better align with who you are and what you need to thrive.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in college and career planning is ensuring students have access to personalized guidance, financial resources, and support networks, especially those from underrepresented backgrounds. I see an opportunity to make college and career counseling more accessible and responsive by combining practical planning with self-discovery. Through Ivy and Ember College and Career, I aim to help students define success on their own terms while thoughtfully expanding my reach without losing the individualized support that makes my coaching meaningful.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me are authenticity, creativity, family, inner peace, and humor. I strive to stay true to myself, approach life and work creatively, prioritize meaningful relationships with family, protect my sense of peace, and maintain a sense of humor through both challenges and successes.
