Her Interview
Ten minutes with Pamela
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the incredible team I am fortunate to work with and the family-like culture we have built together. I feel honored and humbled by my team every day, and I approach each day with an open and loving heart. I believe in creating an environment where people feel valued, supported, and connected, which is why I make an effort to foster genuine relationships both in and outside of work. From welcoming everyone with a hug to hosting cookouts at my home for team bonding, I want our team to feel like family. I always say, “There’s room for one more,” because I believe success is even more meaningful when we make space for others to grow and be part of the journey.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received is that the more people you help achieve what they want to achieve, the better off you will be. I believe true success comes from supporting others, creating opportunities, and helping people reach their goals. When you invest in the success of others, you build stronger relationships, a stronger team, and a lasting foundation for your own success.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the industry is to be the best version of yourself and follow your passion. Pursue the things that genuinely inspire you, while taking the time to build a strong professional foundation through the appropriate certifications, licensing, and training. In an industry where safety and expertise are essential, make sure you are well trained, understand safety practices, and continually develop your knowledge and skills. Most importantly, stay true to yourself and have the confidence to pursue the career you want.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges and opportunities in my field is learning to stay organized while remaining flexible enough to respond to last-minute requests. The luxury tourism and yachting industries can change quickly, so being able to pivot, think on my feet, and turn on a dime is essential. I see these unexpected situations as opportunities to demonstrate adaptability, problem-solving, and a commitment to providing an exceptional experience for our clients.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are good character, honesty, loyalty, trust, and respect. I believe in treating people with integrity, building relationships based on mutual respect, and always doing what is right. I also live by the principle that “a rising tide lifts all boats,” because I believe that when we support and help one another succeed, everyone has the opportunity to grow and thrive.
