About Raven
Raven Seth is a business professional with experience in program coordination, operations, and relationship management. She currently works full-time as a Program Coordinator for the National Asphalt Pavement Association, where she supports organizational initiatives and cross-functional coordination. Alongside her corporate role, she is an entrepreneur at heart, continuously building her skills in leadership, planning, and business development while expanding her professional impact.
As a licensed cosmetologist, Raven is the founder of Raven Francesca Hair Studio, where she specializes in healthy hair care, silk presses, and luxury extension services. She attended THE TEMPLE: A Paul Mitchell Partner School during the pandemic, earned her cosmetology license, and later refined her craft through mentorship with an experienced salon owner. She has recently secured a salon suite lease, where she will operate over the next several months while preparing for the launch of her full-service salon. Her long-term vision includes a 12-stylist station salon, six makeup stations, a beauty education classroom, and a community resource space designed to support both clients and professionals.
Raven’s entrepreneurial mission is deeply rooted in both service and legacy. Having overcome personal challenges including domestic violence, homelessness, and a difficult divorce, she is committed to creating a space that uplifts and restores confidence in others. Her future salon will also provide resources such as showers, donated clothing, and hands-on training opportunities for students and new stylists to build their portfolios. With a focus on impact, education, and empowerment, she is building a legacy business for her four children while creating meaningful opportunities for her community.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Raven
01What do you attribute your success to?
In my early years, maybe like my teens, my drive was really just having the freedom to do whatever I wanted to do. I never saw myself going to clock in anywhere. I wanted to be able to go to the beach and do a little bit of work. Now, I would say my kids drive me. I have four kids - two stepdaughters, Zaria and Naevia, plus two sons, Thomas and Zion who is 10 months, and I can't forget my fur baby Loso. I really want to give them something when they become adults. I don't want them to struggle or have to figure so much out on their own, so I want to teach them how to invest, how to save, how to start a business, and that you always have to give back. I want them to see that and obtain those skills so when they become adults, they're good people.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't give up. Just keep going and remember your why. Even when things look hard, difficult, or you might have a roadblock, there is a way and you will find it. You just got to keep going. Don't let it get you down.
