Her Story

About Rebecca

After introducing herself, Rebecca laughed and added, “Quick disclosure: I have a big personality. I know that. I promise I mean well.” It didn’t take long to understand exactly what she meant. The conversation that followed was filled with laughter, unexpected stories, and more than a few detours.

Growing up, Rebecca was always the one asking questions. She wanted to understand every detail, hear every side of the story, and solve problems as quickly as she could. “For a long time, I thought asking so many questions was one of my biggest weaknesses,” she said. “Then I realized it was actually one of my greatest strengths. I just had to learn how to use it.” Laughing, she described her love of algebra. “I’ve always loved numbers. Not because I liked memorizing formulas, but because I loved finding the missing variables needed to solve the equation.” Today, that same curiosity helps Rebecca understand every situation before building the right solution.

Long before real estate, Rebecca was already putting those qualities to work. While working as a fine dining server at The Tides Inn in Irvington, Virginia, she spent three evenings serving Frank Cava and his wife during one of their first weekend getaways after the COVID shutdowns. Throughout their stay, Frank noticed the way she connected with people, anticipated guests’ needs, and took initiative to create an exceptional experience. Before leaving, he handed her his business card, an opportunity that ultimately brought Rebecca to Richmond.

Rebecca joined Cava Buys, the home buying division of Cava Companies, as a Lead Generator. After nearly two and a half years learning the business from the ground up, she earned her promotion to Acquisition Manager. Today, Rebecca helps hundreds of families each year uncover the right solution for their unique situations.

“Every home I walk into has a different family, a different reason, and a different story. No two are the same, so no two solutions should be either.”

Rebecca believes in being transparent from the very beginning. Her goal is simple: determine whether there’s a solution that truly benefits both the homeowner and the company. If there is, she’ll work tirelessly to build it. If there isn’t, that’s okay too.

By the end of our conversation, it was easy to understand why homeowners remember Becca long after closing day. The big personality she jokes about isn’t just an introduction. It’s the same openness she brings to every kitchen table. She asks the difficult questions, listens without judgment, and never stops looking for the right solution.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Rebecca

01What do you attribute your success to?

Every negative I went through shaped me through the butterfly effect into who I am today. I grew through things instead of holding onto them with a growth mindset, learning something new every day.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

You never know who you're going to meet and where they're going to come back in your life, so treat everybody the way you want to be treated.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Know what you want to achieve and don't let anything stop you. We all fail forward to success. Trust your gut, listen to the news, ignore the noise, and listen.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest opportunities in my field is the ability to continuously grow and improve. I believe success comes from staying focused on my goals, embracing lifelong learning, and consistently striving to be the best at what I do. As industries evolve, those who remain adaptable, committed to professional development, and open to new knowledge are best positioned to overcome challenges and create lasting success.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that guide both my work and personal life are hard work, perseverance, excellence, transparency, and active listening. I believe in giving my best in everything I do, building trust through honesty, and understanding others by truly listening. Above all, my family—my husband and my son—are my greatest priority and source of inspiration. Outside of work, I enjoy singing, playing the piano, and spending time at the beach, which help me stay balanced, creative, and connected to what matters most.
