Rebecca (Becky) (Briggs) Lecker is a seasoned sales and events professional with over 30 years of experience in the trade show and exhibit services industry. She currently serves as the National Director of Exhibit Sales at Heritage Exposition Services, where she leads a division of account executives, directing operations and sales while focusing on custom, dimensional exhibit builds that take projects from conception to reality. Known for her relational approach, Becky prioritizes client advocacy and long-term partnerships, helping small companies grow into lasting collaborators.

Becky’s career began immediately after earning her Bachelor of Arts in Business/Corporate Communications from San Diego State University-California State University. She took a temp role at GES Exposition Services, moving quickly from customer service to electrical production coordination, where she spent six years mastering temporary electrical installation. Following a move to Las Vegas, the trade show capital of the world, she managed exhibits in the fast-paced environment, then returned to San Diego to work at Sparks Exhibits building custom exhibits. Her expertise in account management grew during a 17-year tenure at GES, where she progressed to director-level positions overseeing exhibit sales.

With a Master of Arts in Communication and Media Studies from San Diego State University, Becky blends her communication skills and industry knowledge to build strong client relationships and mentor less experienced staff. She emphasizes listening to client needs, translating vision into reality, and ensuring that projects reflect the exact renderings presented. Passionate about the experiential and relational aspects of exhibit design, Becky has cultivated a career defined by creativity, strategic oversight, and the ability to turn opportunities into enduring partnerships.

Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my absolute love for what I do and my commitment to building genuine, lasting relationships. Trade show work is in my blood - it's high-paced and partnership-oriented, and I thrive on building relationships with people based on trust. My background in communications and journalism made it very easy for me to connect with people, and I've learned that it's not about being transactional - it's about partnering with clients, teaching them along the way, and growing with them. I love working with everyone from tiny baby companies just starting out to major clients, because if you teach them and advocate for what they truly need, those little companies eventually turn into big companies and you have a partner for life. That's how I've built my business. I've also learned through my personal challenges, especially with my daughter who has cerebral palsy, that you should never be limited by what other people think or perceive. You set your own boundaries and expectations, reach for the stars, and if you believe it, you persevere and do it. That mindset of pushing past stereotypes and not being confined by what people say you can't do has carried over into my professional life, helping me break through ceilings in this heavily male-dominated industry and earn the respect needed to become a division leader.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me are family, adventure, and mindfulness—spending quality time camping and traveling, enjoying puzzles, and walking on the beach.
