About Rebekah
Rebekah Carter is the owner of RC Insurance and a licensed health insurance advisor dedicated to helping individuals, families, self-employed professionals, and small businesses navigate the often-complex world of health insurance. Serving clients across 32 states, she takes an educational approach to her work, empowering people under the age of 65 to understand their options and select coverage that aligns with their healthcare needs and financial goals. Her commitment to personalized guidance and client advocacy has made her a trusted resource for those seeking confidence in their healthcare decisions. Rebekah's career reflects a diverse professional journey rooted in healthcare. After earning an associate degree in Ophthalmic Medical Technology from Portland Community College, she spent more than 20 years as an ophthalmic assistant, working alongside leading ophthalmologists and caring for patients in a variety of clinical settings. She later earned a bachelor's degree in art with a concentration in printmaking and photography from the University of Oregon, bringing creativity and attention to detail into every aspect of her career. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she expanded her experience through community focused roles before joining Genentech, where she supported ophthalmology patients by helping them navigate health insurance benefits. Inspired by a longtime friend, she eventually became a licensed insurance professional and launched her own business. Rebekah's unique combination of clinical experience, insurance expertise, and genuine passion for helping others allows her to simplify the insurance process for clients while advocating for their best interests. Her background in patient care gives her valuable insight into the healthcare system, enabling her to provide thoughtful, informed guidance beyond simply selecting a policy. 01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to hard work, determination, and a commitment to lifelong learning. I've found that pursuing work I'm passionate about, caring and helping others, stepping outside my comfort zone, and continually seeking opportunities to grow have allowed me to make a meaningful difference every day.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've received is not to be afraid of obstacles, they're often the greatest opportunities for growth. Stay determined, keep pushing, keep pursuing your goals and dreams, and don't let challenges stand in the way of your success.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to stay open to the unexpected, as opportunities often come in ways you don’t initially anticipate. Be willing to try new things, embrace change, and trust that each experience can lead you toward growth and new possibilities.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest opportunity in my field is helping as many individuals and businesses as possible understand their health insurance options and find coverage that truly meets their needs. Being able to make a difference in people’s lives by providing guidance, clarity, and support is what drives me every day.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are my faith, leading by example, helping others, and being proactive in reaching out to those in need. I believe in treating everyone with kindness and respect, and in bringing positivity into every interaction. Outside of work, I deeply value family and my three amazing kids, as well as spending time camping, traveling, reading a good book, and enjoying the outdoors.
