Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to a combination of persistence, curiosity, and seizing opportunities as they arise. My career began with an internship at a local radio station, followed by work in public relations, and eventually a role in the government’s visual media department. Those early experiences taught me the value of showing up, learning quickly, and building meaningful connections.

A turning point in my career came during my time at TV One. I started as a content coordinator and progressed to manager, overseeing content across multiple departments. This experience equipped me to handle larger projects, take on greater responsibility, and eventually pursue freelance opportunities with NBC and AMC. Today, at A&E, I manage programming and marketing for multiple networks, creating and distributing promotions that engage audiences nationwide.

Along the way, I’ve learned that networking is about more than exchanging business cards—it’s about understanding people’s roles, contributing wherever possible, and remaining genuinely curious. Giving back has also been a priority for me, through volunteer work with Calvary House for Women in D.C. and Housing Works. Within my first two years at A&E, I was honored with two “Unsung Hero” awards, reminders that dedication and hard work do not go unnoticed.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is simple: network relentlessly—both inside and outside your organization. Take the time to understand what your colleagues do, get involved in committees, and make sure your contributions are visible. Internal networking is just as important as external—it helps people see your work and opens doors to opportunities you might not have anticipated. The more you show up and engage, the more doors will naturally open for you.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are dedication, collaboration, continuous learning, and giving back. I am committed to excelling in every role I take on and believe that building meaningful relationships—both inside and outside the workplace—is key to success. I prioritize hands-on experience, mentorship, and ongoing professional growth, and I actively give back through volunteer work and supporting organizations that help women and underserved communities.
