Her Interview

Ten minutes with Renee

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my grandmother, whose guidance and influence shaped the person and professional I have become. She consistently encouraged me to pay close attention, listen carefully, and remain open to learning from every experience. Her strength, determination, and vibrant spirit inspired me to approach life with curiosity, resilience, and purpose. I deeply admire her, miss her every day, and continue to carry the values and lessons she instilled in me throughout my personal and professional journey.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have ever received is, "If it came true, it wasn't much of a dream." That perspective taught me that my goals should continually evolve and expand. Achieving one milestone should inspire me to set even more ambitious aspirations, embrace new challenges, and never become complacent. It reminds me that meaningful growth comes from continually pushing beyond my comfort zone and striving for possibilities that once seemed out of reach.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to be courageous and believe in your own potential, even when others place limits on what they think is possible. While guidance and mentorship are valuable, remember that people can only advise you based on the boundaries of their own experiences and beliefs. Stay true to your vision, trust your instincts, and don't let someone else's perception define your path. Your purpose may be far greater than the advice you receive, so pursue it with confidence, resilience, and determination.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the greatest opportunities in my field today is strengthening genuine human connection. While technology has made it easier than ever to communicate, I believe many people are experiencing less meaningful connection than before. Building authentic, face-to-face relationships and fostering a sense of community creates trust, collaboration, and lasting impact. Investing in personal connections not only strengthens professional networks but also creates opportunities for innovation, support, and shared success.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that matter most to me in both my work and personal life are empathy and a lifelong commitment to learning. I believe empathy is the foundation of meaningful relationships, effective leadership, and positive impact. I am also passionate about continually expanding my knowledge, and I believe reading is one of the most valuable ways to do that. Thoughtfully written and well-researched books provide depth, perspective, and wisdom that stand the test of time. In a world increasingly filled with rapidly generated information, I hope we continue to value ideas that have been carefully developed, thoughtfully examined, and created with genuine intention.
