Ten minutes with Rhonda
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my dedication to the executive support profession and my commitment to continuous growth over the past 25 years. I began my career as an administrative assistant and have grown into my current role as an Executive Assistant, where I support six senior leaders, including a president and five vice presidents, many directors and other team members within the Performance Products leadership team. Becoming a strategic partner to my executives has been one of my greatest accomplishments, allowing me to help strengthen communication, alignment, and collaboration across the organization. Over the past two years, I have continued investing in my professional development by earning certifications as a World-Class Assistant, Elite Assistant, Strategic Partner Executive Assistant, and Corporate Event Planner. These experiences have expanded my skills and reinforced my passion for bringing value, organization, and strategic support to the leaders and teams I serve.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have received is to always strive to be an amazing asset and leader, regardless of my title or position. I have learned that success comes from staying motivated, working hard, continuously improving, and bringing value to the people and organizations I support. By approaching every opportunity with dedication, accountability, and a commitment to excellence, I have been able to grow both personally and professionally.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to believe in their ability to build a successful and fulfilling career through hard work, dedication, and a commitment to growth. Always look for opportunities to expand your knowledge, pursue certifications, and continue developing your skills. The willingness to keep learning and evolving is what creates long-term success and opens doors to new opportunities.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges and opportunities in my field is staying adaptable in an ever-changing environment. In my role, it is important to remain eager and motivated to learn, grow, and develop new skills. I believe that embracing change, seeking out new knowledge, and continuously improving are essential to staying effective and creating value for the leaders and teams I support.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are hard work, perseverance, and making a meaningful impact. My professional growth has been driven by my own determination, curiosity, and commitment to continuously improving and reaching new goals. I take pride in putting in the effort needed to make a difference and bring value to those around me. Family is also at the heart of everything I do. I am incredibly proud of my four grandchildren, especially my grandson who was born with spina bifida five years ago and has overcome so many challenges. His strength and resilience have inspired me deeply and led me to become involved with the Spina Bifida Association, where I can support and advocate for others facing similar journeys.
