Her Interview

Ten minutes with Sandie

01What do you attribute your success to?

My greatest source of inspiration has always been my mother. I watched her make tremendous sacrifices to provide our family with a better future while teaching me the lifelong value of education and continuous learning. Her determination inspired me to pursue my own education and professional development, and her example continues to motivate me to encourage and support the next generation, including my daughter. Her resilience, commitment to growth, and belief that it is never too late to learn have shaped both my leadership philosophy and my career.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Believe in yourself and never stop reaching for your goals. You have never been more experienced or more capable than you are today.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I encourage young women to give themselves both time and grace as they grow into leadership. Invest in understanding who you are, identify your unique strengths, and don't be afraid to pursue a different path if it aligns with your purpose. Develop yourself before seeking to lead others by continuously learning, taking thoughtful risks, and nurturing your skills. Self-awareness is the foundation of authentic leadership, and the more intentionally you develop yourself, the greater impact you will have on others.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Modern leadership is evolving rapidly, creating significant opportunities for emotionally intelligent, servant-centered leaders who can successfully guide organizational change while supporting employee well-being. Organizations increasingly recognize the importance of culture transformation, leadership development, and helping leaders build resilience, self-awareness, and strong people-focused practices. These shifts create meaningful opportunities to develop healthier organizations and more effective leaders.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I believe effective leadership begins with self-awareness, lifelong learning, and genuine service to others. I value integrity, continuous personal growth, emotional intelligence, and creating environments where people feel safe, respected, and empowered to succeed. I also believe leaders must prioritize their own well-being and self-care so they can effectively support and develop others while building healthy organizational cultures.
