Her Story

About Sarah

Sarah Boswell is a healthcare professional with more than a decade of experience in medical sales, currently serving as an Enterprise Account Manager & Field Trainer. Her path into the industry began far from a sales desk—she started in clerical work at a small physician's office before moving into clinical operations within the emergency department of a trauma center. An unforeseen opportunity pulled her toward medical sales, and she famously interviewed for her first role still dressed in scrubs, quickly rising through national training programs into positions that now involve executive-level dialogue with major health systems. Today, her work centers on solving clinical challenges for healthcare organizations, and helping partners deliver stronger patient outcomes. Academically, Sarah built a strong foundation with a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology/Nursing from California State University-Hayward, where she also created an undergraduate laboratory research protocol centered on the BRCA gene. She later returned to the classroom to earn an Executive MBA from Quantic School of Business and Technology, becoming the first person in her family to hold a master's degree. Throughout her career, she has been recognized by colleagues as a natural trainer and lifelong learner, having led large-scale presentations and training sessions across the country. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Sarah has dedicated significant time to community and humanitarian service, including time spent supporting operations at two orphanages in Haiti, volunteer work with a crisis nursery in the Bay Area, and participation in local boosters committees for her hometown. She has also faced significant personal challenges with resilience, including a thirteen-plus year infertility journey that culminated in the birth of her youngest child in 2025, alongside postpartum recovery and two skin cancer surgeries, and a gallbladder surgery—all while continuing to excel in her career and as a parent. Sarah credits her faith as the driving force behind every part of her success, and she encourages others, especially young women entering the field, to treat rejection not as an ending but as a simple "not yet."

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Sarah

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success entirely to my faith. Everything I have accomplished, I owe to God, because without Him, I don't believe I would have any of it. I've lived life both with and without Him at the center, and the difference between those two versions of my life is truly night and day.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received is to build relationships first, listen more than you speak, and lead through service. The most effective leaders measure their success by the success they create for others.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice is simple: breathe. Never treat a "no" as final—see it instead as "not right now." Stay persistent, keep pushing forward, and continue pursuing the next opportunity in front of you.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

A key part of my role is working closely with customers to help ensure they have the products and resources they need to support patient care. I am passionate about helping them navigate challenges and maintain continuity for the patients they serve.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that guide me most are faith, family, and service. I also hold persistence, curiosity, conviction, and compassion close to my work, along with a commitment to clear and meaningful communication in everything I do.
