Her career began at RadioShack before she spent a decade with Sprint, where she held a variety of customer service, sales coaching, workforce management, and operational support roles. She later joined Verizon, where she built an impressive 14-year career, advancing from Retail Salesperson to Assistant Store Manager and ultimately Senior Manager of Retail Sales. Throughout her journey, Sarah has remained committed to delivering exceptional customer experiences while developing high-performing teams.

Known for her people-first leadership philosophy, Sarah believes that great leadership is about developing people rather than simply managing them. She has dedicated much of her career to coaching and mentoring employees, helping sales professionals, managers, and emerging leaders reach their full potential. Her expertise spans team development, sales and operations management, succession planning, employee engagement, performance coaching, and culture building. Under her leadership, teams consistently achieved strong business results while fostering environments where employees felt valued, supported, and empowered to grow.

Sarah's impact extends beyond operational success. During her tenure at Verizon, she earned Winner’s Circle recognition nine times and actively participated in seven Employee Resource Groups, supporting initiatives for individuals with disabilities, foster children, and other community-focused causes. She attributes her success to resilience, adaptability, and a genuine commitment to helping others succeed. Guided by values of integrity, loyalty, accountability, and empathy, Sarah continues to be recognized as a leader who builds strong cultures, develops future leaders, and drives meaningful results through the power of people.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Sarah

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to resilience and adaptability. The telecom world changes so fast, and you have to be ready for change at any moment. My genuine commitment to my people is huge - leading through change and difficult challenges even when the path isn't easy. My cup gets filled by others overflowing back into mine.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Trust your instincts. You're worth it, and never be afraid to take up space. You don't have to have every step figured out, just put your best foot forward. Sometimes you're going to fall, but some of your biggest opportunities come from being willing to take the chance on yourself. Work hard and stay curious.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge is not taking things personally in business and adapting to constant change. The telecom world evolves rapidly - from flip phones to machine-to-machine operations. You have to keep up with that and roll with the punches on staffing decisions and other business aspects.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity, loyalty, accountability, and empathy are most important. Doing the right thing even when difficult, taking ownership of decisions, treating people with respect, and being someone my team can trust while supporting and advocating for them.
