Her Story

About Seena

For over twenty years, Seena Toby has worked as a trusted global guide, helping large organizations solve their biggest data puzzles by turning complex numbers into clear, simple roadmaps. Yet, her journey is far more than career milestones; it is a masterclass in resilience designed to inspire anyone facing a steep hill. Refusing to let hurdles pause her ambitions, Seena conquered a demanding Master’s degree and advanced training while actively raising her two young children. Instead of seeing motherhood and a high-level career as a conflict, she embraced them as a superpower, deploying her multitasking strengths to command boardroom respect. Alongside her career, her deepest joy comes from being a devoted daughter, partner, mother, sister, and friend. Her path stands as a powerful declaration that no peak is unreachable, proving that the things the world calls impossible are simply the milestones waiting to be conquered.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Seena

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to three distinct pillars: a relentless commitment to lifelong learning, the brilliant teams I’ve had the privilege to collaborate with, and the unwavering grounding of my family. In technology and data, the landscape changes entirely every few years. Staying successful means having the humility to remain a student, always chasing the next credential or skill. But more importantly, my drive is fueled by my roles at home. Balancing my career while raising two children didn't hold me back; it taught me a level of resilience, time management, and empathy that made me a far better leader in the boardroom

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Never let your current title limit your capacity to learn. Early in my career, a mentor told me that technical skills have an expiration date, but a growth mindset does not. That advice completely shaped my professional trajectory. It’s the reason I refuse to rest on my 20 years of experience and why I chose to pursue my MBA and Enterprise AI credentials. In technology and business intelligence, the moment you stop upskilling is the moment you stop adding value. Treating your career as an ongoing masterclass ensures you are always ready to guide an organization into the future.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Never let your current circumstances pause the timeline of your ambitions. Leap for your dreams with fierce intention.

The technology and data analytics industries are fast-paced, but your greatest superpower is already within you. Women are naturally elite multitaskers; lean into that innate strength and use it to fuel your trajectory. Remember that your personal and professional lives do not have to be conflicting forces. In fact, they feed each other. Learning how to be a more present daughter teaches you how to be a better, more compassionate mother. Choosing to be an equal, modern partner rather than fitting into an outdated, traditional mold of a wife gives you the space to thrive everywhere.

I conquered my MBA and advanced AI credentials while raising two young children because I refused to let my goals be negotiated away. View your multifaceted life not as a hurdle, but as your ultimate competitive advantage. The resilience and empathy you develop outside the office are the exact traits that will make you a formidable leader when partnering with corporate directors. With continuous learning, unwavering grit, and grace, you don't ever have to compromise—you can powerfully build both an elite career and a beautiful family."

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest technical challenge today is Agile fatigue during large-scale data migrations. While Scrum frameworks are excellent for software development, applying them to massive, fragmented data cleansing projects often stalls because data work doesn’t fit into neat, two-week sprints. The opportunity lies in moving away from rigid methodologies and shifting toward Scaled Agile Frameworks (SAFe). This allows organizations to break down legacy data silos iteratively, turning chaotic pipelines into clean, predictive forecasting models without disrupting daily corporate workflows.

On a personal level, the biggest challenge is overcoming the "always-on" culture of tech operations. For women professionals, the opportunity isn't just about managing a schedule; it's about using our natural multitasking strengths to pioneer a healthier, sustainable way of working. By refusing to let demanding project timelines pause our personal growth, pursuing advanced credentials, and establishing true partnerships at home, women can completely rewrite the rules of corporate leadership—proving that operational excellence and a thriving family life can successfully elevate one another.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Professionally, transparency is my ethical North Star. Data holds the objective truth of an organization, and true transparency means refusing to sugarcoat or manipulate analytics to fit corporate comfort zones. It is about letting the numbers speak for themselves, using reporting to uncover hidden inefficiencies, expose operational truths, and guide directors toward genuine process improvement. Personally, transparency means living without a mask. It means being completely honest about my priorities—boldly owning my professional ambitions in front of my family, and proudly bringing my identity as a mother and partner into my professional life.

My second core value is intentional evolution, which fuels my passion for continuous upskilling. Rather than letting hurdles dictate my boundaries, I treat life as an ongoing masterclass. Conquering an intensive MBA and advanced AI training while raising two young children proved that real evolution requires stepping into complex environments with fierce, unyielding grit. Ultimately, I believe that through lifelong learning, you never have to choose between a powerful career and a beautiful family—you can powerfully build both.
