Ten minutes with Shandrika
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my natural ability to connect deeply with people and create a safe space for honesty, reflection, and growth. Throughout my life, I have been a trusted voice in my family and community—someone others turn to for guidance, perspective, and grounded support.
A pivotal turning point in my journey came when I made the decision to step into my purpose as a life coach during a season of personal and professional transition. That season challenged me, refined me, and ultimately led me into a deeper level of clarity, healing, and alignment with my life’s calling.
Through formal coaching certification and personal development work, I gained tools that strengthened my emotional awareness, leadership capacity, and ability to guide others through transformation.
Today, I lead with faith, intuition, and intentionality—supporting clients as they navigate growth, build structure, and align their lives with purpose and direction. My work is rooted in service, integrity, and a commitment to helping others move from uncertainty into clarity and action.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Trust the direction your life continues to point you in, even when the full picture isn’t clear yet.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My main advice to young women entering this field is to stay grounded in who you are and remain aligned with your values and inner guidance.
Clarity starts from within. When you are self-aware and intentional about your direction, you’re better able to make decisions that align with your purpose—even when the path isn’t perfectly clear. Mistakes may happen along the way, but staying anchored in your principles helps you stay on course and grow through the process.
I also believe it’s important to stay connected to your faith and inner conviction, whatever that looks like for you. For me personally, that has been a guiding foundation in my decision-making and overall direction.
Equally important is entering this work for the right reasons. When your motivation is rooted in genuine passion, service, and a desire to add value to others, it sustains you in a way that external rewards alone cannot.
Ultimately, success in this industry requires self-awareness, integrity, and a commitment to staying true to your purpose while continuing to grow along the way.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in the life coaching industry right now is helping people slow down in an increasingly fast-paced, achievement-driven world. Many individuals are operating in constant “hustle mode,” focused on productivity and external success, while feeling internally unfulfilled or disconnected from their deeper desires and values.
A lot of people are simply not creating space to reflect on what they truly want—such as meaningful relationships, rest, joy, travel, and a more intentional quality of life. As a result, many find themselves in cycles of burnout and survival rather than alignment and fulfillment.
At the same time, this creates a powerful opportunity for coaches to support greater self-awareness, emotional clarity, and intentional living. There is a growing need for safe, supportive spaces where individuals can slow down, reconnect with themselves, and make more aligned decisions in both their personal and professional lives.
I believe the most impactful coaches are those who lead with authenticity, compassion, and integrity—helping clients build not only insight, but also structure and accountability for real change. While this work can be emotionally demanding, it is also deeply meaningful because of the transformation it supports in others.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in my work and personal life are faith, authenticity, honesty, gratitude, and compassion. My family and children are at the center of my life, and everything I do is rooted in creating stability, legacy, and meaningful connection for them.
I also value boundaries and self-care as essential parts of sustainable leadership and service. In my work, I recognize that I can only pour into others effectively when I am grounded, rested, and emotionally balanced.
For me, self-care is intentional and consistent. I prioritize time in nature, daily walks when possible, and moments of reflection and prayer to reset and gain clarity. These practices help me release the weight of the day and stay centered.
I have also learned the importance of being clear and intentional in my communication with others, especially when it comes to boundaries. Protecting my energy allows me to show up fully and serve from a place of overflow rather than depletion.
Ultimately, I believe I am at my best when I am grounded in faith, aligned with my purpose, and intentional about maintaining balance between giving to others and caring for myself.
