Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to consistency and persistence. You're going to get told no a thousand times, but if you have the confidence and the will to knock that one thousand and one time, the door might actually open. That military discipline has just been ingrained in me from day one. My parents were in the military as well, so I often joke that I was born into the military. I spent the first 30 years of my life associated directly with the Army or with the government, and my husband is a retired command sergeant major as well, so that discipline has shaped everything I do. I think it's about staying consistent in your efforts and not being discouraged by challenges, just keeping that focus and pushing through.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received has come from the people who have supported and guided me along the way. My husband has been my biggest champion, always encouraging me to pursue opportunities and believe in my potential. I’ve also been fortunate to learn from incredible mentors like Michelle Gardner-Inch and Stacey Redman, whose leadership guidance and strategic insight have helped shape my approach to growth and decision-making throughout my career.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would encourage young women entering this industry to stay persistent, disciplined, and focused on their goals. Building a strong foundation early and remaining consistent in your efforts is key, even when challenges arise. Don’t let setbacks discourage you—use them as opportunities to grow. Seek out mentors who can guide and support you, and commit to continuous learning, as both are essential for long-term success and advancement.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is helping businesses scale and adapt within the highly competitive and complex government contracting environment. At the same time, this creates strong opportunities for companies that are willing to diversify, form strategic partnerships, and explore new markets. Those that stay proactive, adaptable, and focused on long-term growth are best positioned to succeed.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that matter most to me—both professionally and personally—are discipline, persistence, and service. I believe in leading with integrity, staying consistent in my efforts, and showing up with a strong sense of accountability in everything I do. Supporting others and helping them achieve their goals is also a core part of how I define success. Outside of work, I’m passionate about health, fitness, and giving back to the community. I enjoy pushing myself through endurance events like Tough Mudder and the Marine Corps Marathon, which reflect my commitment to both physical and mental resilience. I’m also deeply invested in mentorship, community initiatives, and personal growth, including working on my book and inspiring the next generation—especially my daughter.
