Shayla McInnis

Shayla McInnis is an accomplished leader in adult education and health sciences, currently serving as a Course Instructor at a Private College. With advanced degrees in Adult Education, Curriculum & Instructional Design from Troy University and Occupational Therapy from Alabama State University, Shayla blends healthcare expertise with innovative instructional strategies. She previously owned her own business, providing health and safety education including CPR training, before transitioning into higher education. Known for her creativity, resilience, adaptability, and commitment to student success, Shayla is passionate about transforming lives through education.

In her role as an instructor, Shayla integrates real-world applications into coursework to prepare the next generation of healthcare professionals. She teaches a variety of health science courses including Human Anatomy and Physiology, Health Policy and Ethics, Medical Terminology, and Biology, utilizing case-based learning, hands-on labs, and interactive lectures to create an engaging and practical learning environment. She prioritizes both theoretical knowledge and practical skill-building, ensuring students are fully equipped to excel in the evolving healthcare landscape. Shayla also pursues professional growth through voice-over training, reflecting her commitment to continuous learning and creative development.

Outside of her professional work, Shayla is actively involved in community initiatives. She supports her brother’s nonprofit basketball program for boys and contributes to other nonprofit organizations in her spare time. Looking ahead, she plans to obtain a real estate license and enter the field of property management, demonstrating her entrepreneurial drive and diverse interests. With extensive experience in educational consulting, digital learning management, health promotion, and public engagement, Shayla combines her versatile skill set with a passion for meaningful impact both in professional settings and the broader community.
