About Shazia
I have been in IT services for close to 20 years, and throughout my career I've been in transformational roles, which means I've been transitioning into new roles and taking up new challenges. I started with managing specific clients in a delivery role where I was managing IT infrastructure for the clients, and from there I have handled various transition and transformation roles for our clients. I have also been in product management, project manager, and program manager roles, all of which entail within any transition and transformation. Currently, I'm heading a team of 400 resources globally, and we are managing the IT quality and the knowledge part of the services, so basically driving the service excellence. My typical day entails having a morning meeting with my key leaders, basically taking up a queue of the progress on the key deliverables and ongoing initiatives, kind of a stand-up where we get a status report and what is pending. Then I have some key meetings with the executive layer, and of course any client-specific deliverable where I have to be engaged in. My normal day involves different calls with different stakeholders, either within my team or with my client and the business stakeholders that I manage. One of my key strengths has been that I've always led a global team with people from different regions, getting them to work together on a single project and ensuring their deliverable is met, which I have achieved with quite ease.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have received is to look for an opportunity where others see a problem or a challenge. I received this early on, and that has definitely shaped my thinking. I am constantly looking for a solution and opportunity, and not getting beat down by the challenge.
