Sherry L. Christian: Speaker: Sherry Christian, Mental Health ClinicianWhat does being an Influential Woman mean to you?Sherry Christian: Blessings, blessings to all you beautiful, influential women in the world. The question, what does being an influential woman mean to me? I'm going to be honest. When I think of being influential, I actually think of the scripture Matthew 20:28. And the scripture in the amplified is, it is not this way among you, but whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant. So for me, it's always biblical principles. And what I have found that my Lord tells me, because he does it every day, is in order to be great. You must be a servant to those around you. So to me, I press and I press to become great in my Lord Jesus Christ. And the reason why is because there is where love, compassion, peace, greater things to look forward to. And also the best is yet to come. So for me, when I look at leadership, which is in the line of influential women, I believe that serving my community, serving the people around me. And being that woman of God that I can be and that is obedient to the love of God in my life every single day and never keeping it to myself. Always, always sharing as much as I can. So being real to me and being real to me is pressing to be who God made me to be. Chasing my dreams. I don't have to chase my dreams because God loves me. The dreams chase me. It's pretty cool. Because his will for my life. Is my reason to want to live. So I say to you beautiful and amazing women out there. Let the dreams chase you. Why chase the dreams? I'm tired. I would rather the dreams chase me and trust me, they wouldn't, it wouldn't have to run very far because I would just lay and let the dreams just lay right on me. I wanted to share what my greater successes are, and that's being obedient in Christ and praying about those things in my life and surrendering all of myself from the crown of my head to the soles of my feet and walking as God has called me to walk. So being In a place that I'm in right now, I am truly grateful. I'm going to always be learning. I'm going to always, always, always have shortcomings. But one of the things that I love and enjoy the most is the fact that I serve a God who is unconditional. Always loving, always helping, always there. Comforts my heart, eases my soul. Clears my mind and blesses me whole, completely. So I say to you ladies, leadership. It's really servant hood. It's being that one to get dirty. Sometimes getting dirty by yourself first and leading those behind you to get dirty. Meaning sometimes you got to go in the trenches to help others come out of the trenches. You know, sometimes it takes you being who you are. To set an example for other people. And for me, I follow, because the Bible says no one is greater than their master. No one is greater than their leader. No one is greater than Christ Jesus Himself. And so I am The daughter of the king and I am so happy and so delighted. This is a new year, clean slate, new beginnings every single day. I look forward to being a servant to those around me. And all those that I will meet someday. But I'm just saying my key. And How I see being an influential woman is truly being obedient to my Lord Jesus Christ and showing my light in him. Over anything else. BlessingsWhat's one piece of advice you would give to younger women chasing their dreams?Sherry Christian: So what one piece of advice I would give to a younger woman chasing their dreams? I will say. For me. Is putting God first, always and forever. Surrendering your will for his will. No one could ever go wrong with that, and that is the best decision I have ever made for my entire life and my life has not been the same. My life has not been the same and it continues to not be the same. So my advice to you all beautiful women destined for greatness is to put God first. You put him first and he will carry you the rest of the way. Never hide your light, ever. Never give up. In him, all things are possible. In Jesus Christ, all things are possible. And one of the most beautiful things in all of that. Is being faithful, learning who you are, the more you know who he is. And not be in potential or be limited, but be free. The sky's the limit to be who you were born to be. And instead of you chasing the dreams. The dreams will start chasing you. The desires are given in our heart by God. He created us to be amazing. He created us to be able to have talents and those talents, when we give it back to him, when we give it back to God, he takes them talents and he multiply and manifests and bless and he just takes us to this whole other level. And who we are and we love more and we change and we don't become complacent. He always has something new. Elevation always comes when we put him first. Our life aligns with everything else that he has in store for us. So I say to you the best. Advice I could ever say. Is when you put the Lord Jesus Christ, when you put God first. You can never go wrong on anything, even when things are crazy and they don't look right, when you are aligned with God, when you are aligned with Jesus, when you are aligned with the Lord Jesus Christ, I tell you with all my heart. It may look like everything else is chaotic around you. It may look like that, but when you write with God, he shields you, he covers you, he lifts you, he keeps you. And then he's already moving. Everything else starts to line up. Everything lines up in your life. Your soul is satisfied. Your mind is still and quiet, and you can catch your thoughts. You can think about things. You can rest your mind. Your heart is filled with so much love that joy just resonates when you speak, when you do, when you hold fast. To all that God has in store for you. I'm expressing myself right now because I'm living it right now. So I'm not telling you any advice that I don't use, but I do keep it simple because I've always been a complicated person until Jesus came into my life. Now my life is very simple. I keep God first. And the rest fall in place. I like living like that because now I don't stress. I don't have anxiety. I don't have the worry. I don't have none of those things that I had carrying my own self, trying to figure all these things out and not putting God first. I pray this blesses you as it blesses me from the time I wake up to the time I lay down and even while I sleep between the wings of the Most High God, I tell you with all that I know. It is a blessing to me to share how I live and this is how I live. I choose every day to serve my God and I'm gonna tell you, in serving him, sometimes it's just being humble, sometimes it's just being quiet. Sometimes it's just thanking him for having breath, sound mind, traveling on the roads. I just say to you, Let your dreams chase you. Put God first. Blessings.
