I've never regretted taking time away from work for family, but I have regretted missing special moments because I was too busy working.

Her Story

About Shirley

Beyond entrepreneurship, my heart lies in giving back to my community. I actively participate in community outreach, helping provide meals and essential supplies to individuals experiencing homelessness. I believe that true success is measured not only by professional accomplishments but also by the lives we positively impact along the way.

As a woman of faith, I credit God, hard work, and perseverance for guiding my journey. I am passionate about empowering women, supporting fellow entrepreneurs, and demonstrating that our past does not define our future.

My mission is simple: to lead with purpose, serve with compassion, and inspire other women to believe that no obstacle is too great to overcome.

I am living proof that with faith, determination, and a willingness to never give up, it is possible to turn life's greatest challenges into a story of strength, success, and purpose.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success first and foremost to God, my faith, and my determination to never give up. I have learned that success doesn't happen overnight, and it certainly doesn't come without sacrifices. I believe in showing up, staying consistent, treating people with kindness, and always doing business with integrity. My husband and the people who have supported and believed in me have also played an important role in my journey. Every challenge I have faced has taught me something valuable, and every setback has pushed me to work harder and grow stronger. Most importantly, I attribute my success to having a genuine passion for helping others. When you lead with your heart, remain humble, and stay true to your purpose, success becomes more than just an accomplishment—it becomes an opportunity to make a difference.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have ever received is to be unique, stay true to yourself, and never be afraid to do things differently. If you love something, go for it! Don't let fear, doubt, or the opinions of others stop you from pursuing your passion. I've learned that standing out is far more powerful than fitting in. Being authentic, trusting my instincts, and having the courage to follow my own path have played a huge role in my success. You don't have to be like everyone else to succeed. Sometimes, being different is exactly what makes you unforgettable.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to women entering the notary and professional services industry is be willing to start small, stay consistent, and understand that success takes time. Always lead with integrity, treat every customer with respect, and remember that your reputation is one of your greatest assets. Don't view other women in the industry as competition, but as opportunities to connect, learn, and grow together. Most importantly, never underestimate the power of showing up, even when business is slow. I started with just a couple of customers a week, but I refused to give up. Be authentic, be confident, and don't be afraid to create your own opportunities. There is room for all of us to succeed.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in the notary and professional services industry today is standing out in a competitive market while keeping up with changing regulations, technology, and customer expectations. Many people underestimate the knowledge, responsibility, and attention to detail that our work requires. However, I see these challenges as opportunities to grow, educate our communities, and offer services that go beyond traditional notarizations. There is a growing need for convenient, trustworthy, and bilingual services, especially for individuals who may struggle with language barriers or navigating unfamiliar processes. I believe the greatest opportunity is to build genuine relationships with customers and become someone they can confidently turn to. Technology may change how we do business, but it can never replace compassion, integrity, and the personal connection we create with the people we serve.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that mean the most to me are faith, integrity, compassion, family, and humility. My faith in God is the foundation of everything I do, and I believe in treating people the way I would want to be treated. In both my personal life and my business, I strive to be honest, dependable, and someone others can count on. I never want to become so focused on success that I forget where I came from or the struggles that shaped me. I believe in giving back, lifting others up, and showing kindness without expecting anything in return. Family keeps me grounded, and serving my community gives my work a deeper purpose. At the end of the day, I want to be remembered not just for what I accomplished, but for how I treated people, the lives I touched, and the difference I made.
