Her Interview
Ten minutes with Sky
01What do you attribute your success to?
God is number one. Always. He gives me comfort, he gives me wisdom. There's a lot of times I don't know what my next step is going to be, but he leads me. And I would just say, like, Having, like, strong family, you know? My mom, she's a very strong woman. Her name is Jackie.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Always be learning. Always. So I have people around me that are, like. you're still studying, you're still… you're still trying to get this certificate, you're still doing this, and I'm like, yeah, you need to always be learning so that you grow within your profession. So, I would encourage people who are Trying to get into AI, really take it seriously, learn every day, have, like, a daily, You know, time that you… you learn. At least 15 minutes a day. I think that's really important, to stay on top of your skills.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Definitely get into AI. Don't be afraid of AI. If you can, you know, do fashion and all this other stuff, you can do AI, too. Whatever your interests are, Build whatever around that. If you like fashion, then build some AI that's gonna accommodate fashion, right? But do it, because it's gonna save you a lot of time, a lot of money. It's gonna help the people around you, and you're gonna have job security for at least the next 20 years. So you should do it. You're smart enough. And I'm gonna say this, there's a lot of women I come across, they're not confident enough to do certain things, because it's predominantly male-oriented, and it's like, no, you're smart enough, you're good enough, you know? Like We gotta get our confidence up.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Some people are not Truthful, I guess, or forthcoming. So I see that as an issue. Because it's like One thing that kind of bothers me is people make things so complicated, and I feel like a lot of business owners, they pay for things, they don't know what they're paying for. And a lot of these people are very techy, but they don't know how to communicate tech correctly to the average person. So, I would also say that As a tech person, You need to learn how to communicate, tech Clearer, simpler. So that your customer understands what they're getting. And why they're getting it.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity is, like, number one. Integrity, authenticity? Man, you cannot buy authenticity, I really value that because I feel like If you're not authentic, then you're not gonna show up 100%, right? And if you don't show up 100% You're not gonna give your biz. And so, often It's pretty easy important, because nobody's gonna follow you, nobody's gonna believe you if you're not you. So And I've seen, like, a lot of people fall because They don't know how to be transparent, they don't know how to be authentic. And it sucks, but that's what's required. Especially if you have people following you.
