Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my perseverance. Throughout my career, I have consistently faced challenges and obstacles, but my determination to overcome them and maintain focus on my goals has been the driving force behind my achievements. By staying committed, adaptable, and resilient, I have been able to navigate complex situations, seize opportunities, and continually grow both professionally and personally.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

At the end of an interview, just add "Hiring me will be the best decision you'll ever make." Confidence can come in handy, whether you have to "fake it until you make it," or you are that confident, good for you, use it to your advantage!

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Everyone has to start somewhere, we all did. Finding an ally in your department who has been there for a while. This person you can shadow and feel comfortable asking questions you might think are silly. Learning title was difficult, but not impossible. You need to learn from the Paralegals in your department and eventually the pieces will come together. Next thing you know you're doing the training!

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

A fluctuating real estate market. We've been in a sellers market for a while now, as interest rates are so high. These homeowners are paying 2.25% and don't want to take on a 7.5% mortgage, therefor they don't sell their homes. So the market dries up and therefor settlements also dry up. This throws off the entire market. Rent is going up, as people can't buy houses, so landlords can charge more and we do fewer settlements.
