About Steffie

I've been in the business world for about six years now, though I consider myself a baby to it. I'm an entrepreneurial writer and also work as a notary for the state of Florida. My main focus right now is writing, especially working with kids. I'm currently collaborating with a therapist on a book called 'They Call It Discipline,' which is a psychological take on parenting with a focus on Black and Caribbean culture. It blends fiction and nonfiction based on my experience being raised in Caribbean culture. As I'm preparing to be a mother, I don't want to transfer the trauma and negativity to my children, so partnering with a therapist has helped me understand core relations with children and how not to make them afraid of their emotions. I have a background teaching children who are autistic or on the spectrum, which has given me insight into how their minds work. I've also worked in customer service helping people find major deals, but my real passion is writing, especially focused on children. On a daily basis, I'm a provider and listener, offering free therapeutic resources to friends, family, and their networks to help them heal. Back home in Haiti, I provide therapeutic services as well, helping children heal from abusive parents and supporting parents who need shelter from abuse.
