Dr. Sunayana “Dr. Sun” Pandé, PhD, is a distinguished polymath, metaphysical parapsychologist, trauma alchemist, and visionary thought leader. Born at the foot of the Himalayas, Dr. Sun is a Brahmin Hindu and a nonbinary parent whose life experiences—including surviving cancer, coma, gun violence, and 9/11—have shaped their philosophy of radical healing and empowerment. Their journey began with a Bachelor’s in Psychology from NYU in the late 1980s, followed by a career on Wall Street where they became a vice president in their 20s. Despite professional success, Dr. Sun sought deeper meaning, and after 9/11, they moved to South Florida, returned to graduate studies, and ultimately earned a PhD in metaphysical parapsychology, a discipline at the intersection of psychology, neuroscience, and metaphysics. Meditation and spiritual practice remain central to their work, enabling access to higher dimensions and levels of consciousness that inform their teachings, writings, and transformational guidance.

Dr. Sun is the founder of Life in the Bliss Lane®, an award-winning platform and educational ecosystem that includes over 120 published books, a dozen transformative courses, and a custom app designed to expand consciousness and facilitate trauma integration. Their pioneering work includes the Kappal Otti™ trauma framework and the tripartite system introduced in Sail Beyond Trauma, the first to combine mind, body, and soul for holistic healing. These contributions have earned them numerous accolades, including the Cognitive Innovation Award and the New Mexico Excellence Award for Trauma Innovation. Through public speaking, coaching, and workshops, Dr. Sun empowers LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, and spiritually curious communities to reclaim their inner power and embrace authentic transformation.

A radical visionary and thought leader, Dr. Sun bridges ancient wisdom and modern science, blending Vedic practices with neuroscience, trauma-informed care, and metaphysical inquiry. They advocate for environmental justice, disability rights, gender equity, and inclusive spirituality, creating sacred spaces and tools that challenge conventional boundaries while honoring the full spectrum of human experience. With Life in the Bliss Lane®, Dr. Sun has built a platform where ideas considered “out there” are explored fearlessly, encouraging others to transcend systemic limitations, access their higher consciousness, and live fully in joy, freedom, and self-mastery.

Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I am able to visit levels of consciousness and other dimensions, and that not only enriches my life, but it provides me with unending inspiration for my books and my courses and my app. Through meditation, which is a huge part of both my spiritual growth and my practice as a Hindu, I access these other dimensions and states of consciousness. This ability to explore and experience these realms gives me a constant source of material and insight that flows into all of my creative and professional work.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

If you ever have to choose between being rich and being happy, choose being happy. I learned this lesson personally when I was on Wall Street as a vice president in my 20s. I had it going on professionally, but I was never happy. When I left Wall Street and moved to Florida to start doing play therapy with nonverbal kids, sitting on the floor and just playing with children, my entire family and all my friends thought I lost my mind. But this was the best thing I ever did, because I chose being happy over being rich.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice comes in the form of a poem by E.E. Cummings: To be nobody but yourself in a world that is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else, means to fight the hardest battle any human being can fight and never stop fighting. This is the essence of what I believe young women need to embrace as they enter this field - the courage to remain authentically themselves despite all the pressures to conform.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in my work and personal life center on resilience, purpose, and growth. My own journey of transformation from seeing myself as a victim to recognizing myself as a survivor has shaped how I approach life and work. Meeting Dr. Bernie Siegel inspired me to focus on why I keep surviving rather than why traumatic events occur, and studying interlife theory with Dr. Michael Newton allowed me to frame my experiences as purposeful “boot camp” for building strength and wisdom. I deeply appreciate this perspective, which feels like a profound version of “fake it till you make it,” and I encourage others to explore these concepts further through my app, Life in the Bliss Lane.
