About Tabitha
Tabitha Ackermann is an accomplished logistics and supply chain executive with nearly three decades of experience in international transportation, freight forwarding, and operational leadership. She currently serves as Branch Manager for JAS Worldwide's Atlanta operation, where she leads a team of 40 professionals and oversees all aspects of branch performance, including employee development, customer relations, operational efficiency, and vendor partnerships. Having entered the logistics industry in 1997, Ackermann has built her career from the ground up, gaining hands-on experience across import and export operations, pricing, sales, customer service, and executive management. Her expertise includes freight forwarding, trade compliance, international shipping, warehouse management systems, and building high-performing teams.
Throughout her career, Ackermann has earned a reputation for developing people and driving operational excellence. Prior to joining JAS Worldwide, she held multiple leadership positions with Panalpina, where she was recognized twice as Employee of the Year for her outstanding performance and leadership. She believes one of the industry's greatest challenges is recruiting and retaining exceptional talent in an increasingly competitive logistics market. At the same time, she sees tremendous opportunity for organizations that invest in employee development, cultivate strong workplace cultures, and embrace technology to improve efficiency and customer service. Her leadership philosophy centers on empowering others, fostering collaboration, and creating an environment where both employees and customers can succeed.

01What do you attribute your success to?
My work ethic and my grit. I'm very determined to succeed, and I also love to help people grow, and be successful.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Be yourself, create a vision, and execute with integrity. Always be aware of continuous learning, building strong relationships, and focus on the people.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Work ethic and drive is very important in this industry. Things are always changing. Part of being successful is staying comfortable with uncertainty and capitalizing on every opportunity when change happens.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field today is recruiting and retaining quality talent in an increasingly competitive logistics market. At the same time, I see tremendous opportunity for organizations that invest in their people by fostering professional development, creating strong workplace cultures, and leveraging technology to improve efficiency and operations. Companies that prioritize both innovation and employee engagement will be best positioned for long-term success.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide both my professional and personal life are integrity, professionalism, consistency, leadership, teamwork, and exceptional customer service. I also believe in investing in the growth and success of others, knowing that strong relationships and collaboration are essential to achieving meaningful results. These principles influence how I lead, serve, and support those around me every day. Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, reading, and traveling with my husband, son, dog, and extended family. I treasure opportunities to create lasting memories through shared experiences and believe that maintaining a healthy balance between work and family is an important part of living a fulfilling life.
