Her Interview
Ten minutes with Tamirah
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my commitment to helping and mentoring others. I find fulfillment in being a positive influence in people's lives, supporting colleagues as they grow professionally, and providing genuine care to every patient and family I serve. My passion for making a meaningful difference has guided my career and continues to motivate me every day.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice that I received is to follow your own path. Don't be influenced by others to follow the trend of what's easy. Success is not measured by what's easy, but it's measured by believing in yourself and taking risks. If everyone is going down the right or the left path. You don't follow them because that's not your path to take. Standout be bold, be different, be unique and create your own path to follow.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice is to enter healthcare with a genuine heart for serving others. This profession requires compassion, empathy, and a sincere desire to help people—not simply a focus on earning a paycheck. Treat every patient with kindness and respect, always be willing to learn and grow, and remember that your dedication can truly change someone's life.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in healthcare today is ongoing understaffing, which often requires professionals to take on multiple responsibilities while maintaining high-quality patient care. At the same time, this creates opportunities for compassionate leaders to mentor others, strengthen teamwork, improve operational efficiency, and elevate the quality of care provided to patients and families.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide me most are compassion, genuine care for others, teamwork, mentorship, and putting people first. I believe in supporting those around me, encouraging personal and professional growth, and treating every individual with empathy, respect, and kindness.
