Tammy Shindler serves as Linen Utilization Director and Regional Director at HHS, specializing in healthcare linen management, utilization, and cost-reduction strategies. In her role, she works directly with hospitals to identify and address linen loss, an ongoing expense within healthcare operations. Shindler provides education and training to clinical staff and direct reports on proper linen utilization practices, helping facilities improve accountability, efficiency, and overall resource management.

Shindler currently oversees linen utilization programs across four full-time hospitals and one part-time facility in Virginia and North Carolina. She has supported two Virginia hospitals for six years, where her initiatives have contributed to approximately $300,000 in annual year-over-year savings, and has managed three additional hospitals in North Carolina for nearly two years. Using specialized company software to track linen movement into and out of facilities, she identifies utilization patterns and develops targeted education strategies, including rounding, informational materials, and incentive programs.

Before transitioning into healthcare linen management, Shindler worked in a hospital café, where she was recruited into her current field and discovered an opportunity to make a broader operational impact. Today, she partners closely with linen plant account managers and hospital teams across multiple HHS service lines to strengthen linen management practices and support operational efficiency. Her approach combines hands-on education, data-driven monitoring, and relationship building to help healthcare organizations reduce waste, control costs, and achieve sustainable improvements in linen utilization.
