Tarshia Champagne, CPM, NYARM

Director of Client Success / Director of Property Management
Argo Real Estate
New York, NY 10011

Tarshia Champagne, CPM, NYARM, is a seasoned real estate professional and executive leader with nearly two decades of experience in property management. She currently serves as Director of Property Management and Director of Client Success at Argo Real Estate, where she oversees a team of approximately 30 property managers responsible for co-ops, condominiums, and rental properties throughout the New York City area. In her dual role, she leads client engagement initiatives, drives new business development, and ensures operational efficiency, all while fostering strong relationships with clients and stakeholders across a highly competitive market.

Tarshia’s career journey is defined by determination, growth, and a willingness to take calculated risks. She began her path in a consulting role auditing utility bills, where she built strong relationships with property management executives by delivering measurable savings. Motivated to transition into real estate, she accepted an entry-level administrative position—despite a significant pay cut—to gain hands-on experience in the industry. From there, she steadily advanced through roles including assistant property manager, property manager, and senior team leader, gaining deep expertise in co-op and condo operations, capital projects, and resident relations. Her progression reflects both her strong work ethic and her commitment to mastering every aspect of the business.

In 2022, Tarshia earned her Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management, a milestone that elevated her leadership confidence and helped propel her into executive roles. Known for her people-first leadership style, she is deeply committed to mentoring and developing talent, guiding team members from entry-level roles into successful property managers. She values consistency, accountability, and intentional growth, and credits her success to discipline, long hours, and continuous learning. Through her work, Tarshia continues to shape high-performing teams and deliver exceptional client experiences, while inspiring the next generation—especially women—to stay focused, build strong networks, and invest in their professional development.

Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I contribute my success to just hard work. There have been many nights and mornings that I stayed up, I kid you not, to maybe 4 or 5 in the morning, working. I like to get ahead, and for me, I'm so busy with people in and out of my office every day. I work better at night, alone, because I get more done. I get so much more done when I'm working from home by myself at night. When I'm in the office, people are in and out of my office. My door is really always open to my team, so they can come in at any time. But it also delays some of the things I want to do, because I don't shut my door close to them. I know they need me, so I'm there for them, but that's just one of my little pet peeves. I like working late at night at home. I get on the computer maybe at 8 o'clock, and sometimes I don't sign off till 12. If I'm traveling, I may stay on until 6 o'clock in the morning until I'm about to leave for the airport. It works for me, and it has been working, and it has gotten me to where I'm at. I like to get ahead. I don't like a bunch of emails, so I may go home and check about 100 emails and respond back to everyone so I can clear my inboxes. I just go crazy. I feel overwhelmed when I have a bunch of emails, so I like to just stay ahead and get ahead of everything.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Stay Focused, Stay Diligent, Show Up and Get the Job done!

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would say stay focused, stay dedicated, and always show up and show out. There are many days that, when I first started, I didn't know how my day would be, because someone can ruin your day in a second by a nasty email or whatever, but I always say stay focused. And stay visual. You have to pay attention to everything. Networking is important because by networking, you can meet so many people, and it can open so many doors for you. Stay up and versed on education. That's very important. I actually completed my CPM designation at IREM, which is Institute of Real Estate Management, back in 2022, which led me to get a promotion here at Argo from Assistant Director up to Director of Property Management and Director of Client Success. So it pays off. Education is ongoing, and that's something I think that everyone should continue to do, to continue their education.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I would say consistency and honesty. Because you have to be consistent, and you have to be intentional at what you do. In honesty, I have to have honesty. I mean, at this point in our age, in our life, I don't think no one should be dishonest. I mean, because there's a way. If there's a situation, there's a way out of it, and there's a way to handle things. There's no need for anyone to tell lies anymore. I just don't like liars, so to me, it's consistency, intentional, and being honest. Those are three things that matter to me. Take accountability.
