What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to hard work and dedication, time management, and really just the will to help people. Those are the things that guide me every day and have helped me build my business over the past 13 years.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would tell young women to first have morals and don't look at everything as an entitlement. Set goals, follow your dreams, and pray about things. Don't just be a follower - be a leader. And with being a leader comes the mindset of asking, 'Who can I help?' We can't be selfish in what we do. We have to do it for the future generations. It can't just be all about me - it's about our future, our future generations. I've trained about 16 girls in the travel business, and I always tell them to pay it forward. Houston is huge. You're not gonna get all the business, so just help someone else. That's how we grow together and create opportunities for the next generation.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenges right now are what's going on in the world with war and different global issues like that. But at the same time, the greatest opportunity for me is that I get to travel and share the world with other people. I try to go on a trip at least twice a month, learning different cultures and different foods, and then educating my clients so they can see more than just the usual destinations. Before, everyone just wanted to go to Cancun. Now I get inquiries for places like Germany and Thailand, and it's been really exciting to see that shift. When people see me traveling or see that I sent a group somewhere, they realize they're not confined to just the norm anymore - they can actually go out and explore the world in a bigger way.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
My values are family - I value family deeply. I value friendships, and I value loyalty and being loyal to people, friends and family. I also stay grounded with my religion and my faith. These values guide everything I do in both my work and personal life.
