Her Interview

Ten minutes with Theresa

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the support of my family, especially my sons and my husband, and my ability to turn adversity into opportunities for growth. Building resilience has guided me throughout my career in mental health and education, particularly in supporting at-risk youth.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received is to pursue work that you love, continue learning, and never settle. Growth is a lifelong journey, and it’s okay to evolve, change direction, and still be figuring things out at any stage of life—as long as you continue moving forward.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me are creativity, connection, and lifelong learning. Music has always been a meaningful part of my life—I enjoy playing piano and guitar, singing, and sharing that passion with my son, who is also self-taught. We love discovering songs by ear, playing together, and creating memories through music. I also value family, fun, and a strong sense of community, which is reflected in my love for sports and the traditions we share at home.
