What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my passion and empathy for the work I do, alongside my faith, community advocacy experience, and persistence. Experiencing the loss of my son due to Trisomy 13 taught me the importance of walking through grief with intention, which deepened my understanding and empathy for the families I serve.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Surround yourself with sound counsel and mentors who see your potential and will call you to step up.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Create and claim spaces for yourself, build opportunities where none exist, prioritize wisely, and be willing to be vulnerable and authentic. Seek mentors who offer honest guidance and allow you to grow into leadership.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
There is an opportunity to support families navigating reproductive and hormonal transitions, particularly with advanced maternal age. Using technology and AI efficiently can improve access to care, but it is critical to maintain human connection and ensure compassionate, holistic care for families.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Faith, compassion, empathy, humanity, service, curiosity, and tenacity. My faith has been foundational, especially during personal loss, while compassion and empathy guide how I interact with patients, colleagues, and my team. Maintaining humanity, even while integrating new technologies, is essential to my work.
