What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to being raised by a phenomenal father who has incredible work ethic and integrity. I also believe my injuries I endured as a collegiate athlete shaped how I handle high stress situations and personnel. I bring that same tenacity from my background in sports into the workplace, but at the same time I enjoy being able to bring my soft yet direct personality to empower other women, and specifically women of color within my industry. In my job, building relationships is key for the success of my team and principal. I bring a genuine passion for understanding how individuals and teams work best, and I build systems that enable leaders to make informed decisions while creating an environment of trust.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received was to remember that I am my biggest asset. Not one person can duplicate your presence, and when you commit to excellence within your craft, it will show. At the root of all my work is a deep value of care and consideration. I aspire to being and delivering a service with a luxury feel regardless of the circumstances.
Instead of waiting for direction, I learned to proactively identify gaps, clarify priorities, and build systems that allow leaders and teams to operate more efficiently. It also taught me the importance of strong judgment and discretion—because taking ownership often means making decisions in real time when leaders are unavailable or overloaded. I aim to create an environment where leaders feel supported, teams feel aligned, and everyone can do their best work. That mindset has carried me through complex projects, fast-paced environments, and high-pressure moments—and it’s been the foundation of my success.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
If I could give one piece of advice to young women entering this industry, it would be to build a foundation and believe in who you are and what you bring to a team or principal. This field moves quickly and often demands a lot from you, invest in developing strong operational skills that will translate in an impactful way. In high-level support and operations roles, the most valuable people aren’t just the ones who complete tasks—they’re the ones who anticipate what’s coming next and build the structure that allows leaders to move faster and more effectively.
Build a network of mentors and peers. The relationships you form will be some of your most important assets. And lastly don’t be afraid to ask for support! —especially from those who have navigated similar paths.
If you care about justice, mental health, or social impact, don’t leave that behind when you enter a professional setting. Your passion can be a source of strength, purpose, and resilience.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Much of our work can be incredibly time consuming, and when you gain the trust of an individual there can be many responsibilities that come with that. You will have to balance a lot and it is so important to be in constant communication even if the details seem like they don't matter. Instill and maintaining professional boundaries is something I constantly teach during job training, and there is also no better skillset than the ability to read a room and understand key relationships and partnerships. That opens doors to influence decision-making, contribute to organizational strategy, and support leadership at a much higher level. This shift is empowering for professionals who can really grow in a field or company after showing they have the skillset.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that matter most to me are integrity, empathy, and accountability. I believe integrity is the foundation of trust, especially in high-stakes environments where discretion is critical. Empathy guides how I support people and make decisions, ensuring that I consider the human impact of every choice. I attribute this to my volunteer work and upbringing my parents taught me and my relationship with God. I have a strong foundation within my church and community that carries me through all aspects of my life. Lastly, accountability is how I translate values into action—I take ownership of outcomes and follow through even when the work is complex or challenging.
