Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to a strong work ethic, adaptability across industries, and hands-on learning from business owners that taught me far more than any degree. Working full-time while attending culinary school at night instilled grit, dedication, and a deep understanding of what it takes to grow professionally.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to always work with integrity—your reputation follows you, so it’s crucial to say what you mean and follow through on your commitments. People remember consistency and accountability.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Always have a tenacious attitude and consistently self develop. If you aim to get 1% better everyday, you will never be the same person as yesterday. You can always control your attitude and effort. Strive to bring value to the team, push people up, and have an unselfish mindset. Always compete against yourself!

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenges in waste hauling right now include timing issues with current contracts in place, the larger corporations who often realize too late that they should have offered better customer service and pricing will then in turn try to counteroffer our pricing, as well as dealing with professionals who sometimes delay or cancel meetings without clear communication.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The most important values to me are independence, financial freedom, and setting a strong example for my children by showing them that with hard work and determination, you can build your own future outside of the corporate world.
