Her Interview

Ten minutes with Tonya

01What do you attribute your success to?

My success is anchored in a deep spiritual foundation that keeps me grounded and consistently grateful for every professional opportunity. I am deeply driven by a commitment to operational excellence. While perfection is a statistical impossibility, striving for an uncompromising standard forces me to remain intensely focused, maintain a high baseline of execution, and consistently deliver my highest tier of effort.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The most defining career advice I ever received is that you are the ultimate architect of your own career. No one else is responsible for your trajectory. You must first design a clear blueprint of what you want to accomplish and, crucially, what brings you true fulfillment. Once you possess that structural clarity, you have to claim absolute ownership of your path - making intentional, calculated decisions and actively executing opportunities that align with your core strengths and personal definition of success.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the corporate arena is to master the broader business ecosystem. Treat every assignment as an operational case study. Take the time to understand your specific mandate, but aggressively learn the cross-functional responsibilities of the leaders around you. Uncovering how separate divisions interface allows you to become a highly strategic collaborator and solve organizational friction. Equally as important, intentionally invest in building professional capital grounded in mutual respect and unshakeable trust - these relationships are the ultimate currency for long-term executive success.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the most persistent market failures is that executive women continue to be structurally underpaid and undervalued, despite delivering measurable, high-impact contributions. High-achieving women still operate under an unsustainable tax - feeling forced to expend twice the cognitive energy to earn the same baseline of recognition and institutional credibility as their male peers. Command of the room, authority, and seat placement remain a challenge, particularly within male-dominated corporate governance structures. However, this deficit presents a critical opportunity to fundamentally re-architect the corporate landscape—advocating for equity, amplifying executive female voices, and engineering spaces where women confidently project their sovereign leadership, expertise, and asset value.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

In both my executive practice and personal life, integrity and trust serve as my non-negotiable operational foundation. Integrity is a structural prerequisite; it dictates how I navigate governance and anchor my relationships. I operate under the firm conviction that trust is an asset built incrementally through genuine rapport, unshakeable consistency, and precise execution on commitments. By demonstrating uncompromising integrity and relentlessly following through on my directives, I am able to engineer enduring, high-value alliances anchored in deep mutual respect.
