About Treyanna
Treyanna Brown is a healthcare professional with over 10 years of experience spanning medical coding and billing. She currently serves as a medical coding and billing specialist supervisor, a role she has held for almost four years, where she oversees revenue cycle management including chargebacks and ICD-10 coding for a team of four coders. Her career began in Florida where she trained as a CNA, EKG technician, home health aide, and became a certified pharmacy technician before transferring to Louisiana. She later pursued education at the University of Phoenix in medical records and health informatics technology and is now working on her master's degree. Brown has been recognized on the Dean's List and draws from personal experiences to advocate for patients navigating insurance and healthcare decisions. Outside her professional work, she serves as a youth mentor, organizes community cooking events, and supports young women in foster care.

01What do you attribute your success to?
My success is built on a combination of determination, faith resilience, leadership and a strong desire to help others. I understand that succes does not happen overnight,it requires consistency, sacrifice and the willingness to keep moving forward even when circumstances become difficult.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
I learned that success is not always about how quickly you reach your goals, but about being consistent, learning from every experience, and continuing to grow. Every job, challenege, and opportunity can teach you something valuable and prepare you for the next level. I was also taught to never stop learning, stay professional, build genuine relationships and always remember your worth. Your career may change directions, but every experience can become part of your foundation.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
No dream is too big. Put your focus on God and just go with it. Be your authentic self and just do it. Don't let anything stop you.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is the ongoing shortage of qualified healthcare workers. Healthcare professionals are often expected to do more with fewer resources while managing demanding workloads, staffing shortages, and the increasing needs of an aging population. Maintaining quality patient care while preventing burnout is a major challenge.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I believe in treating people with kindness and respect, regardless of their position or circumstances. Integrity is especially important to me because I believe my words and actions should match. I want people to know that they can trust me and depend on me.
