About Trianna
I've always wanted to do something within healthcare, though I didn't really know much about it until high school. In the beginning, I wanted to become a doctor, but that changed, and now I want to become a physician assistant. Knowing that I can serve more communities is what drives me, especially since I am not limited to just one specialty - I can do much more now with the license of becoming a PA. I'm currently a student at Cal State Fullerton, majoring in biochemistry on a pre-physician assistant track. I recently became a licensed Emergency Medical Technician, which I'm definitely most proud of. The journey wasn't easy - I had to do EMT school twice because I failed the first time, and then I also failed the national registry the first time. It was very frustrating, but I told myself, if this is really what I want to do and I have the passion for it, why am I going to stop myself now? So I put on my botas and went back to the books, and lo and behold, we passed. I'm working with the Los Angeles Angels over the summer as their EMT for their Angels camp, which helps me get the patient care hours I need for PA school. I will be the first person in my family to enter the medical field, and I'm very blessed that my parents are so supportive because I know not a lot of people are in my position.

Ten minutes with Trianna
01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't listen to other people. A lot of people love to put in their few words, however, you know yourself at the end of the day. No matter what, there's always going to be brighter days ahead. You really just have to focus on your own goals and dreams and be the advocate for yourself.
02What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I believe empathy and compassion both go hand in hand, not only towards others, but also to yourself.
