Venecia Chavez, PLC
Venecia (Vanessa) Chavez, PLC, is a seasoned professional life coach and finance expert based in Aurora, Colorado. With over 30 years of accounting experience spanning construction and multifamily/single-family residential sectors, she has developed a keen expertise in financial management, internal controls, auditing, payroll, and comprehensive reporting. Known for her leadership and organizational skills, Vanessa consistently trained and guided teams, managed complex projects, and turned challenging situations into structured, effective solutions.
Vanessa’s journey into life coaching emerged from profound personal transformation. After surviving two comas and experiencing the loss of her father, a Marine, to suicide, she embraced a philosophy she calls ACE for Life — Awareness, (in)volvement, and Knowledge — focusing on personal growth and resilience. Encouraged by friends in 2022, she founded Butterfly Bliss Coaching to help individuals navigate hardship, overcome burnout, and create meaningful, purpose-driven lives. Her programs, including The SEED, Thrive, and Flourish, provide structured guidance for clients seeking clarity, stability, and intentional growth.
Beyond coaching, Vanessa engages her community through weekly workshops at local libraries and nonprofit initiatives via Acfor Life, supporting those experiencing homelessness. A published author and active advocate for personal development, she combines her professional experience, life lessons, and spiritual insight to empower others to move from survival to thriving. Vanessa’s work has earned recognition for its impact, including being named among Influential Women representing Aurora, Colorado for 2026.

What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my resilience and emotional regulation. Facing a life-threatening situation nine years ago taught me the value of truly living and strengthened my ability to overcome challenges. While publishing my first book with Christian Faith Publishing and working on my next has been rewarding, my greatest achievement is emerging from adversity stronger and more self-aware.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to be incredibly gracious with yourself. Don’t push too hard. Focus on organizing productive days, and trust that even when it feels like nothing is happening, progress is being made. What you put out into the world will eventually come full circle.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge I'm facing right now is visibility and cultivating the appropriate clientele. I'm not gaining much traction yet, so I'm using the same energy I used in my accounting career and applying my Ache philosophy - staying aware, staying involved, staying knowledgeable about where I'm planting my seeds for my programs and looking at my marketing strategy. I feel like I've done a lot of research on niches and I am pretty unique, so I want genuine traffic to come my way. I don't want to overload with leads because I have had some very unhealthy clients who were not there for professional reasons, and I need to cultivate the right audience.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me are growth, service, and compassion. Writing, teaching, and counseling allow me to guide others through life’s challenges, from my children’s book The Amazing Caterpillar Journey of Venecia La Mariposa to my upcoming series Cocoon to Bloom. I also founded Ache for Life, a nonprofit supporting the community, and lead weekly library workshops, fulfilling my passion for service and connection.
