Her Story

About Vidhya

This is truly a second wind in my career, and the most exciting chapter yet. For many years, my primary focus was raising my children, intentionally balancing my career in senior roles like Controller and Director of Sales Operations within the tech sector. Now, with my children grown, I stepped into my power and aimed for the C-suite. My foundational years at Ernst & Young, working with enterprise giants like Microsoft, gave me the perfect blueprint to scale mid-tier firms. After a successful journey at Global Upside that resulted in an acquisition, I reunited with the original founder to co-found Cerity Global, helping clients expand seamlessly across the U.S. and over 170 countries.

As a CPA, I wear multiple hats, but my true passion lies in building deep, trust-based relationships. I architect the right go-to-market strategies for our clients, navigating the complex worlds of international accounting, HR, payroll, and entity setup so they can thrive. Today, I am also a proud grandmother. I love that I can show my granddaughters that age is never a barrier to achieving your dreams. When you truly enjoy what you do, you just have to go for it.

Ten minutes with Vidhya

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to a simple philosophy: never stop observing and never stop learning. Growth requires a push to step outside your comfort zone, and for me, that push came from my husband. He truly helped me see my own potential, urging me to step out and add value to my field in a bigger way.

To sustain that growth, maintaining balance has been non-negotiable. I believe that to achieve your highest professional goals, you must keep your life balanced. That grounded approach allows me to focus on what matters most, which is building the relationships that drive organic growth. Beyond my technical skills, which are the foundation of everything I execute, it is the trust I build that keeps clients coming back. They often tell me I am a rare commodity because they want to follow me wherever I go. I make it clear that I am a true extension of their team, absorbing the operational stress so they can focus entirely on the strategy.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I ever received is twofold: never stop learning, and always surround yourself with people who are smarter than you. Every single day, no matter your title, offers an opportunity to gain new knowledge. To scale that knowledge, you must build a team that is better than you are. They are the ones executing the vision on the ground, and your success as a leader depends entirely on their strength.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

To any young woman entering this industry, my advice is to build a rock-solid knowledge base, stay focused, and cultivate unwavering confidence in your abilities. True success requires deep commitment, but it also requires knowing how to prioritize. For me, that means putting family first. If your foundation at home isn’t solid, it is incredibly difficult to thrive at work, no matter how hard you push. When you keep your personal priorities in order, everything else falls into place, regardless of your field.

Furthermore, remember that the industry is evolving at a breakneck pace. With artificial intelligence and rapid technological innovations, the way we work changes daily. Even the way I create my own presentations today is completely different than it was a few years ago because of the tools now available. You must stay relevant to the current era. Never stop enhancing your skills, embrace the new tools, and ensure you are always evolving alongside the industry

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The single greatest challenge and opportunity in our field right now centers on proprietary technology and analytics. Today, clients don't just want service, they expect a sophisticated, data-driven platform. Because innovation is happening at a breakneck pace, the competition is fierce, and your tools must constantly evolve to keep up. Everyone wants automation; the era of manual processes is over.

At Cerity Global, navigating this is a thrilling work in progress. We are actively evaluating the market landscape to carve out our own distinct technological niche. The challenge is keeping pace with daily innovations, but the massive opportunity lies in building our own advanced tools to deliver the seamless, automated, and analytical experiences our clients now demand

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that anchor me both personally and professionally are authenticity and uncompromising honesty. For me, these aren’t just abstract concepts, they are the foundational building blocks for everything I do. My greatest strength lies in building deep, lasting relationships, and you cannot forge true connection without a basis of trust. By showing up authentically and communicating honestly, I am able to build the strong partnerships that allow both my team and my clients to thrive
