About Whitney
Whitney Smithy is a healthcare business development leader dedicated to building strategic partnerships that strengthen patient care and drive organizational growth. As Regional Vice President of Business Development for Physicians Services Group of Florida, she works to expand relationships with physicians, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and healthcare partners to improve care transitions and enhance outcomes across the post-acute care landscape. Her approach is centered on collaboration, trust, and creating meaningful connections that benefit both providers and the communities they serve.
With more than 13 years of experience in long-term care, Whitney brings a strong background in healthcare operations, relationship management, and business development. Prior to her current role, she managed an assisted living facility focused on mental health residents before transitioning into the Medicaid segment supporting skilled nursing facilities. Her diverse experience has provided her with a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities within senior care, allowing her to develop innovative strategies that support providers, patients, and healthcare organizations.

Determination, goal-driven, detail oriented, always open to learn new things, being kind and respectful to others, making a difference.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The more you know the more you grow. Find what makes you happy-your passion.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would always say just don't give up, and don't get discouraged when things don't seem to be going in the most positive manner. You just have to keep your head up and push through whatever the adversity is. Take advantage of any training or education offered and just be a sponge.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Growth and expansion can have its challenges, however, bringing PSG and all that they offer from an array of leadership, support and care, not only to the patients and facilities we serve, but also the families and communities, are what set us apart. Believing in the organization and what we do each and every day; can make any challenge something you can overcome.
