About Xiomara
Xiomara Collins Moreno is a dedicated educator, entrepreneur, and educational leader with nearly 30 years of experience transforming learning opportunities across public schools, international institutions, and community programs. Based in Ashburn, Virginia, she currently serves as a High School Teacher with Loudoun County Public Schools, where she teaches Spanish and focuses on helping students develop critical thinking, creativity, and real-world skills. Alongside her teaching career, Xiomara is a SWaM-certified business owner of Riteaway, LLC, and has experience supporting business operations, project management, and executive services.
Throughout her career, Xiomara has contributed to education in the United States and internationally, including significant work in Panama where she taught mathematics at the International School of Panama for two decades, helped advance International Baccalaureate (IB) initiatives, and later served as an assistant principal at Balboa Academy. She also has experience in parent advocacy, community education programs, and designing innovative student opportunities, including an executive internship program that connected high school students with corporate experiences while preparing them academically. Her passion for education is rooted in mentorship, accessibility, and empowering students to recognize their potential.
Xiomara holds a Master of Education in Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language/ESL from the University of Virginia, a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Lehigh University, and additional academic credentials from Lehman College and Fordham University, where she earned recognition for her thesis work. She holds teaching licenses in New York and Virginia and is pursuing National Board Certification for Teachers. Beyond the classroom, Xiomara is passionate about developing initiatives that promote student mindset growth, mentoring educators interested in international teaching opportunities through her “Teachers on the Go” platform, and creating future programs focused on helping young people value and transform themselves.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to seek out internship opportunities and gain hands-on experience early in their careers. I also encourage them to take elective courses related to education and professional development, as building a strong foundation in learning and communication is invaluable. Education has always been a priority in my life—both of my parents were teachers, and their dedication inspired me to recognize the importance of continuous growth, knowledge, and mentorship.
