Her Story

About Zara

Zara Cerni is a seasoned executive and entrepreneur with more than 45 years of experience in the medical field and over two decades of expertise in aesthetic medicine and medical spa operations. She has built her career around creating elevated healthcare experiences that combine clinical excellence, operational strategy, and personalized care.

After successfully transitioning out of a family medical practice, Zara and her husband transformed their passion for aesthetics into a business, launching a med spa from their kitchen with a vision to deliver exceptional Botox and aesthetic services. Through dedication, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to the client experience, the practice grew over 12 years into one of Orange County’s largest medical spas—expanding to a team of 42 professionals, including nine providers, two physicians, a body contouring specialist, three estheticians, and administrative staff—before its successful sale.

Following this achievement, Zara continued to expand her expertise by supporting Nuey Aesthetics and contributing to the development of modern luxury aesthetics concepts. She is now leading the creation of Tox of the Town™, an innovative aesthetic experience designed to redefine how clients engage with medical spa services. The concept blends advanced treatments with hospitality-inspired touches, featuring contemporary glass treatment rooms that transition into private spaces, community-inspired suites such as the Lido Suite and Balboa Suite, curated skincare offerings, digital education and payment solutions through iPads, and thoughtful details such as complimentary wellness juice shots. Through this venture, Zara continues to merge operational excellence with creativity, creating environments where luxury, convenience, and personalized care come together.

Zara’s perspective has been featured in Newport Beach Lifestyle Magazine, Orange County Magazine, Coto de Caza Magazine, and Ladera Ranch Magazine. Under her leadership, Forever Ageless Aesthetics was nominated for and won the Mid-Size Family-Owned Business award and was recognized among the 500 Most Influential Businesses in Orange County by the Orange County Business Journal. In 2025, she was also nominated for the Orange County Business Journal’s Women in Business award.

In 2022, Zara faced a defining personal chapter when she was diagnosed with an aggressive form of triple-positive breast cancer. Throughout a year of intensive treatment, she continued to lead with grace and determination, never stepping away from her team or her purpose. That experience reshaped her lens on beauty and wellness, deepening her commitment to helping others feel strong, confident, and fully alive.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Zara is passionate about empowering others, building strong communities, and leading with compassion. Her philanthropic involvement includes leadership roles with Women of Chapman, Camino Health Center, Mission Hospital, and the Collaborative Courts Foundation. She believes success comes from valuing people, staying committed to one’s vision despite challenges, remaining curious, and embracing opportunities for growth. Her leadership philosophy continues to inspire a new standard in aesthetics—one where innovation, connection, and genuine care define the client experience.

There is no finish line, only evolution.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Zara

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to resilience, curiosity, and a commitment to creating meaningful experiences for others. Throughout my career across luxury retail, healthcare design, operations, entrepreneurship, and aesthetic medicine, I have remained focused on understanding people’s needs and delivering excellence through thoughtful details, innovation, and genuine connection. My journey has taught me that success is built through perseverance, adaptability, and the ability to transform challenges into opportunities for growth. Building Tox of the Town has allowed me to combine my passion for wellness, beauty, and personalized care while creating an environment where people feel valued, confident, and empowered. My experiences, including my personal health journey, have strengthened my purpose and reinforced my belief that true beauty is about confidence, vitality, and helping others become the best version of themselves. I am grateful for every lesson, every relationship, and every opportunity that has shaped my path and continues to inspire my work.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have ever received is to believe in possibilities, trust my instincts, and have the courage to pursue opportunities that align with my purpose. Throughout my journey, I have been fortunate to have incredible mentors and supporters who encouraged me to dream bigger and embrace new challenges. My husband, Michael, has been my greatest source of encouragement, always reminding me to explore opportunities with confidence and approach challenges with a positive mindset. His belief in “going for it” taught me the importance of being open to growth while making thoughtful decisions. My mother also shaped my perspective by instilling resilience, determination, and the belief that there are no limits to what we can achieve. These lessons have guided my leadership philosophy: surround yourself with people who inspire you, remain curious, and never be afraid to pursue a vision that can create meaningful impact. True growth comes from believing in yourself and having the courage to turn ideas into reality.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to stay committed to their vision, remain curious, and embrace every opportunity to learn and grow. Challenges are not failures; they are simply hiccups along the journey that provide valuable lessons and help shape your path forward. When you truly believe in your purpose, do not allow obstacles to take away the passion and determination that drive you. Staying curious is essential because the world is constantly evolving, and those who continue to learn and adapt will always find new opportunities to succeed. I also believe in the power of building a strong community. Surround yourself with people who inspire, support, and challenge you to become better. By staying open-minded, welcoming new ideas, and maintaining the courage to pursue your vision, you can create meaningful impact and achieve lasting success.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges and opportunities in aesthetic medicine today is balancing rapid industry growth and innovation with the importance of maintaining genuine human connection. As the field continues to evolve through new technologies, investment, and expanding business models, I believe the strongest organizations will remain those built on trust, relationships, and a commitment to exceptional experiences. Throughout my career, I have learned that people are at the center of every successful business, and prioritizing clients, teams, and communities creates lasting impact. For me, every interaction is an opportunity to build meaningful relationships by listening, understanding individual needs, and making people feel valued and cared for. The future of aesthetic medicine lies in combining advanced solutions with personalized, compassionate care, creating experiences that empower individuals and foster confidence. By staying focused on people and purpose, we can continue to build businesses that are not only successful but also meaningful and trusted.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me are valuing people, leading with compassion, and recognizing the importance of human connection. I believe that people are at the heart of every successful business and meaningful relationship, and when you prioritize and genuinely care for others, positive outcomes naturally follow. In both my professional and personal life, I strive to see the good in people, appreciate their unique stories, and treat every individual with respect and kindness. Life is filled with opportunities, relationships, and experiences that hold tremendous value, and I believe it is important to approach each day with gratitude, empathy, and a commitment to making a positive impact on those around me.
