The Local Problem She Helped Solve

Small scale change created an impact she could actually see.

Quote Rachel Short, Vice President of Sales and Marketing on Influential Women

Throughout my career I've led businesses and teams, but some of my proudest moments came as a volleyball coach. The opportunity to mentor young girls, encourage them to believe they belong, and help them develop confidence both on and off the court has been incredibly meaningful. The wins and losses fade, but seeing those young women grow into leaders themselves is impact that lasts.

Quote Ruth K. Orono, Co-Founder on Influential Women

In my business, I've learned to choose and do what is right, even when doing what's wrong would be easier and accomplished in a shorter time. Whether seen or unseen, I always chose to do what's right because what I do privately, will be felt and seen publicly at some point.

Taking on FEMA in my own backyard following Hurricane Helene taught me that rebuilding a community is also about helping each other each day to navigate our way back to normalcy. That kind of relentless grassroots recovery work takes a heavy toll on our collective mental health and emotional well-being.
