As Interim Regional Director of Community Development & Infrastructure at Matrix Design Group, she leads multidisciplinary teams and delivers innovative solutions that strengthen communities through transportation planning, traffic operations, environmental compliance, and resilient infrastructure. Originally from Colombia, María Angélica built her engineering career in the United States through perseverance, continuous learning, and an unwavering commitment to public service. She brings specialized expertise in integrating safety, equity, and resilience into infrastructure solutions and has extensive experience leading capital programs, administering federal grants, and aligning technical excellence with community values. Beyond her professional role, she is an active leader within the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Institute of Transportation Engineers, and the Transportation Research Board, where she is passionate about mentoring future leaders and advancing equitable, future-focused infrastructure.
