Helen Laughland Penland

With more than 25 years of experience across print, publishing, web, and packaging industries, Helen Penland serves as President of HLP Quality Media, LLC, operating as Helen Penland Writing Services. Her career began in copy editing and evolved through roles in design and production management, project management, and quality management—building a reputation for meticulous attention to detail and high standards.
Helen considers her biggest professional accomplishment to be making the leap from a Fortune 500 company into entrepreneurship, founding her own business that continues to serve clients nationwide. Over the years, she has managed projects ranging from digital textbooks and pharmaceutical documents to marketing materials and community publications, working with organizations such as Bristol-Myers Squibb, Lumina Datamatics, and Our City Media.
Today, alongside her professional work in quality media and editing, Helen is concentrating on her lifelong passion for painting, with several of her pieces displayed in local businesses. She credits her high school art teacher for inspiring her to pursue college and art—a pivotal moment that set her on her career path—and proudly names her father as her greatest hero and source of strength.
Helen holds a B.A. in Visual Arts from Florida State University and an MBA in Business Management from the University of Phoenix. Active in her community, she is a member of the Vero Beach Chamber of Commerce and remains committed to helping clients communicate with clarity and impact across all media formats. She also volunteers as a Board Member of the non-profit, Ardie's Mission, Inc. an organization devoted to helping Veterans and teaching Character Development Classes.
