Her Story

About Lupe

Lupe Sanchez serves as the Director of Operations for a treatment facility, where she oversees key operational functions including staff management, budgeting, insurance, billing, and the development and implementation of policies and procedures. With nine years of experience in the healthcare field, she has built a diverse background working in hospital emergency rooms, medical-surgical units, primary care, and urgent care settings. Her passion for helping others led her to transition into the addiction recovery sector, where she is dedicated to breaking down the stigma surrounding addiction treatment and promoting compassionate, evidence-based care. Lupe’s journey is a testament to resilience, determination, and the power of transformation. After rebuilding her own life, she pursued higher education and successfully completed nursing school while earning a Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management and an Associate’s degree in Business Administration. She holds the CCSS credential and remains actively engaged with organizations including the National Latino Behavioral Health Association, Narcotics Anonymous, and other recovery-focused groups throughout her state, where she continues to advocate for individuals and families impacted by substance use disorders. In addition to her leadership role in healthcare, Lupe is the Owner and Founder of Heart & Hustle LLC, a business launched to provide essential education and professional training opportunities. Through Heart & Hustle LLC, she offers medical certification courses including CPR, First Aid, Narcan administration, blood-borne pathogen training, and continuing education opportunities for nurses across the state and potentially nationwide. Through her professional work, advocacy, and entrepreneurial efforts, Lupe continues to inspire others by demonstrating that recovery is possible and that meaningful change begins with compassion, education, and perseverance.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to resilience and the ability to keep moving forward, even when faced with challenges. My journey from addiction to supporting others in recovery has taught me the importance of perseverance, strength, and determination. I have learned that setbacks do not define us; rather, it is our ability to rise, rebuild, and continue striving that shapes our success. This experience has fueled my passion for helping others and has shown me the power of hope, courage, and never giving up.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering my industry is to take challenges with perspective, remain open to learning, and never let setbacks define them. This field will test your resilience, and there will be moments when you feel knocked down, but the key is to keep moving forward and get back up. Believe in your abilities, stay committed to your goals, and understand that every challenge is an opportunity to grow stronger and more capable.
