✨ International Women’s Day – For Every Woman Who Refused to Give Up
My beginning would not define my ending.
International Women’s Day is not just a celebration for me.
It is a moment of reflection.
A moment to remember every woman who had to be stronger than she ever imagined.
Today, I think about the young girl I once was. A girl who grew up in Kosovo, who dreamed of a big life but had no idea how many storms she would have to walk through to reach it.
I think about the 14-year-old girl who lived through fear and uncertainty.
I think about the young woman who left her home country with a suitcase full of dreams and a heart full of questions.
And I think about the immigrant woman who arrived in New York with limited English, no connections, and a life that suddenly had to start from zero.
Like many women, my story was not easy.
I worked as a housekeeper when I first arrived in the United States. Many people saw only the uniform. They did not see the journalist I had been. They did not see the dreams I carried inside.
But I knew who I was.
And I knew one thing for sure:
My beginning would not define my ending.
Step by step, year by year, I worked harder than I ever thought possible. I learned a new language, a new culture, and a new life.
The journey was long, and many times it was silent.
There were moments of exhaustion, moments of doubt, and moments when the world felt heavier than my strength.
But something inside me always said:
Keep going.
Today, when I look back at that journey — from housekeeper to Area Vice President, leading large teams and helping others grow — I do not see only success.
I see resilience.
I see courage.
And most importantly, I see the power of a woman who refused to give up.
But this day is not only about my story.
It is about every woman who wakes up every morning and keeps going even when life feels impossible.
It is about the immigrant woman who starts over in a new country.
It is about the mother who sacrifices quietly for her children.
It is about the young girl who dreams bigger than the world expects her to.
And it is about the women who lift other women.
One of the most important lessons I have learned in my life and career is this:
When women support each other, incredible things happen.
When we believe in another woman’s potential, we change lives.
When we stand together, we become unstoppable.
As a leader, mentor, and mother, this is the mission that guides me every day.
I want to remind women everywhere that your past does not limit your future.
Your struggles do not make you smaller — they make you stronger.
Your dreams are valid, even when the world does not understand them yet.
And sometimes the strongest women are the ones who continue walking forward quietly, without applause, without recognition — simply because they believe in themselves.
Today, on International Women’s Day, I celebrate every woman who is still fighting for her dreams.
I celebrate the women who are building new lives in new countries.
I celebrate the women who are leaders, mothers, daughters, dreamers, and warriors.
And I celebrate the women who choose courage over fear.
Because the truth is simple:
The world changes every time a woman refuses to give up.
